Bought the stock several years ago at $50 dollars a share. A very well managed company. Highly recommend

Maybe now is the time to sell McD. Stochastic has risen very high, the price is overbought. McD is near its highs. Although Ichimoku shows an uptrend, Tenkan, Kijun and the cloud are lined up in order of the seniority of the periods. And yet, I think McD will not overcome the mark of 200.

I think Im part of the reason we have new highs here.

We tend to visit McD's a lot with the kids!

Shares of McDonald’s Corp (MCD) are rising nearly 5% today on the back of solid earnings from Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG). The fast food pickup/takeout game is alive and well as consumers are getting tired of cooking at home. On a technical basis, there is a McDonald’s stock chart breakout above the daily 50 moving average today. This likely gives it further upside to the daily 200 moving average at $201 in the coming weeks. This means there is the potential for another 7-8% upside in McDonald’s Corp until it hits a short/sell level.

As a swing trader, I accept the stock chart breakout, sitting back and letting it run higher in the near-term. Aggressive traders/swing traders can likely buy it and play the upside move. I will likely step up and short the key 200 daily moving average at just over $200/share.

I like MCD around $170 or so if we can get down there. 30% back up to highs from there.

There's a lot going on in this chart. Wedge formed and broke out to the positive, although it's returned back into the wedge. Bullish MA crossover coming and both are acting as support. I'd expect another move above $200 soon which will be the third test of that level. If it can push through ~$203/share, should be fairly clear sailing up to ~$220 if the overall market maintains/continues up.

I'm looking at the McDonald's down the block. I don't see drive through sales being able to generate cash flow replacement for lost counter sales. If this Covid situation continues, restaurants may give up a lot of unused dining room square footage, and redesign to drive through, drive up car hop, and outdoor patio service. 1/2 year of missed dining room revenue have already collapsed a lot of restaurants.

Has continued pushing up since this post I made Monday. Now bumping up against some resistance.

McDonald's the company will be fine. In spite of how vomit-inducing the food is. Only kids should eat here, as a rite of indoctrination. The typical family of four has no need for a sit-down restaurant setting; the drive thru is their natural habitat. Business will continue as usual for this core constituency. Now perhaps this is less business, but it is still substantial.
Bring your kids here, so they learn to acquiesce to tenets of modern day "society". Happy-ness come in a cheap box, and is consumable. The illusion of choice, and of choices being bipartisan only (cheeseburger or McNuggets? hamburger is throwing your opinion away). A corporate mascot that makes no dang sense (Grimace, wtf are you? a grape shake?). The game is rigged (Monopoly). Nostalgia for a time that never existed.
    McDonald's is life.

It's an American icon. It's what people all over the world consider "American Cuisine". Big Mac, French fries, and a Coke. I'm surprised that Buffett hasn't bought it.

I'm on The Left Coast. In N Out burgers. Religious propaganda printed on all good wrappers and drink cups. Can't open a franchise. Can't buy the stock. 100% privately held and operated.

No way! I didn't know about the religious propaganda, but as a vegetarian, I wanted my meat-eating friend to try In-and-Out on a trip out west because I've heard so much about them.

    We never made it, unfortunately.

Nobody asked Nancy Pelosi why she was absent from Herman Cain's funeral.

Politics and religion aside; In N Out uses only fresh ingredients. Harris Ranch beef. Everything is prepared on site. No secret to making a good burger.

    Perhaps because we're socially distancing...?

I'm an "essential worker" and I'm in close contact with more than a dozen people a day. Yeah, I'm also in a high risk group, so it's pretty much a guarantee I'm *F****** if I get sick.

I don't care what your politics are, you should not be in crowds if you can help it.

It's nice to see them supersizing the chain but they have over 38,500 stores so that's about 0.13%.
