Is VG just going to launch tourists or will they do cargo?

They launched 4 CubeSats for the government, on the first flight. Mixed use.

Ah yes, I remember seeing this.

Its the modified 747 that takes the rocket up.

Here is what I was looking for, the cost per launch:

LauncherOne is a 70-foot-long (21-m-long) two-stage rocket, capable of delivering up to 1,100 pounds (500 kg) of freight to orbit. One feature unique to LauncherOne is its air-launch strategy, a method performed by separating from Cosmic Girl at an altitude of roughly 35,000 feet (10,700 m) and thrusting into low-Earth orbit from that point. Virgin Orbit representatives claim that this method increases flexibility and responsiveness when compared to vertical launches, at least in the case of LauncherOne.

The company also employs this strategy with its space tourism plane, SpaceShipTwo.

The current target price for LauncherOne is below $10 million per flight and is expected to be joined by dozens of new launch vehicles manufactured by Virgin Orbit in the coming years. Numerous large global networks are in development by companies like SpaceX, SITAEL, and the formerly-bankrupt OneWeb, looking to connect us across vast distances, stimulate the global economy, and expand the limits of human knowledge: an industry Virgin Orbit is hoping to assist in.

So far this month sideways after a strong June.
But if this doesn't hold $39, it looks like it'll go back to the lower $30s toward the 200 sma.

    $25 - $30 range should attract buyers

Still unsure how to play it. In with 100 @ $25 and wondering if I should have sold at $50+. I really expected this second run to take us to new highs, guess that didn't happen.

Seems to be a good amount of downward pressure though. Guess I'll hold for now, maybe consider adding again around $25 if it gets there. You'd think the sell off has to stop soon though. Seems like this is a fundamental hold for a lot of investors while the speculators and scalpers are making it choppy.

Sitting right on the 200 sma as the week ends.
Is the bottom near, given a little peek below the squiggly line? As I look at the calendar I see Jeff Bezos' space flight is next week, July 20

    SPCE down at 24.50$

    I wish I wasnt broke.

I still think the market is due to come down a bit further, this is a very attractive price point for SPCE. Ford is at a good price too, at like 12.30$

The surge in COVID is making liquid oxygen scarce. LOX is needed in unprecedented quantities for ICUs.

That won't bode well for SPCE. If I were smart, I would sell my 100 shares but I'm not smart. I will stay with SPCE until the end. I'm an investor, not a trader.

One of the weirdest facts of this whole pandemic is that a really bad flu has hindered out space travel plans!

The FAA is investigating Virgin Galactic's flight on July 11 for veering off its projected flight path during descent. "Virgin Galactic may not return the SpaceShipTwo vehicle to flight until the FAA approves the final mishap investigation report or determines the issues related to the mishap do not affect public safety," the FAA said in a statement to CNBC.

The grounding could delay Virgin Galactic's flight test program and the start of commercial service, which has already been pushed back multiple times.

Maybe Virgin Galactic can help the investigation by sending the stream link to the FAA, which millions of others were watching live.

"After further review, the play stands. Touchdown."

Well, SPCE sitting at 23.45$, even for a company that is still quite a ways from profitability, I see this as a great entry price.

It's been a wide-ranging year of price movement, but it has held sideways and now at the bottom of the range. About 5% off the low of the week.
