Stewart Bruker BioSciences Corp.'s shares advanced Friday following news it will be added to the S&P MidCap 400 index next month. In early trading, the shares were up 10% at $85.30, for a gain of 58% since the end of last year. S&P Dow Jones Indices late Wednesday, ahead of the Thanksgiving Day holiday, said Bruker would replace KAR Auction Services Inc. in the index, with KAR moving to the S&P SmallCap 600 index in place of acquisition target Meredith Corp. At the same time, Cars.com Inc. will replace DSP Group Inc. in the S&P SmallCap 600. The changes will become effective before the market opens next Thursday.
