Speaking of gold lately. Eureka? Why Fisher Investments Thinks You Shouldn’t Rush Into Gold Beneath the milestone, gold still has many drawbacks. https://www.fisherinvestments.com/e...nvestments-thinks-you-shouldnt-rush-into-gold
A new milestone for the SP500......a great single vehicle investment in its own right. S&P 500 breaches 7,000 mark Wall Street braces for Fed decision, Big Tech earnings https://finance.yahoo.com/news/live...fed-decision-big-tech-earnings-143835732.html
The impact of AI....of course. Drip, drip, drip. Amazon to lay off 16,000 employees after grocery shakeup, bringing total cuts to 30,000 since October https://finance.yahoo.com/news/amaz...al-cuts-to-30000-since-october-150311418.html
MORE on the good old SP500 S&P 500 crosses 7,000 points for the first time, lifted by AI optimism https://finance.yahoo.com/news/p-500-crosses-7-000-143520517.html WTF.....AI OPTIMISM? What is that. I thought is was an AI bubble. We need to clean all this positivity out of the markets and investing....people might actually be able to make some money. We dont want that.
GOLD and SILVER......on fire today. I think this boom has a good ways to run. It will be a very interesting event to watch.
I had to look for this story. Of course it is being IGNORED......on my one primary investing site. Exclusive: China gives nod to ByteDance, Alibaba and Tencent to buy Nvidia's H200 chips - sources https://www.reuters.com/world/china...nvidias-h200-ai-chips-sources-say-2026-01-28/
This is.....GASP.....REALITY. Chip stocks rally after bumper earnings and a report of a game-changing China approval for Nvidia https://www.cnbc.com/2026/01/28/global-chip-stocks-today-nvidia-china-asml-sk-hynix.html
OK.....BUMMER.....the rally has FADED. Not that it ever happened for my seven stocks. Right now I am five RED and two GREEN. At least I am seeing very little about the FED. What a relief. The most IRRELEVANT story of the next four months.
OK......I am out of here. YOU got the markets........ oldmanram and Tiresmoke. If you get in trouble....call LORI, RG, and Strathmore.
Will do, was up pretty good at the opening , but have fallen to about 1/3 of that initial gain, still it's green and that's' good !! I'm going to go argue with a range, be back just after the close Handing it off to ???
I've been watching from the sidelines lately. Both from being busy and sometimes from having nothing of real value to add! It looks like my only green stock today is NVDA, and being my largest holding, is the one if any I'd like to see up. Hopefully this one can gain some momentum and break into the $200's in the coming months. PLTR is taking a pretty good breather back to early August 2025 pricing. With their ER coming up this is probably a pretty good place to be. Plenty of room to run.
A TINY loss for me today. In spite of NVDA, GOOGL and MSFT being green. Plus a loss to the SP500 by....0.06%. MEANINGLESS.
Good for TSLA....doing their part for big tech. Tesla stock climbs on Q4 earnings beat, Optimus robots on track for end-of-year production The company also said it would invest $2 billion in xAI. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/tesl...ack-for-end-of-year-production-211804761.html
META also helping....they know how to talk up their company...in addition to earnings. Something AMZN, GOOGL, AAPL, and MSFT could learn from. Meta shares rise on stronger-than-expected revenue forecast https://www.cnbc.com/2026/01/28/meta-q4-earnings-report-2025.html "Key Points Meta reported fourth-quarter earnings on Wednesday and provided stronger-than-expected sales guidance. Shares of the company rose as much as 4% in after-hours trading on Wednesday. Meta said it expects first-quarter sales to come in the range of $53.5 billion to $56.5 billion, ahead of analyst estimates of $51.41 billion."
AND.....last one...my MSFT. Microsoft beats Wall Street expectations with $81.3B revenue https://finance.yahoo.com/news/microsoft-beats-wall-street-expectations-211809058.html As I was saying....learn how to lean into the positive....MORONS. Of course with historic earnings....the stock is down 4% in the early after-hours. Microsoft Q2 earnings beat on top and bottom lines as cloud revenue tops $50 billion, but stock falls https://finance.yahoo.com/news/micr...ops-50-billion-but-stock-falls-154618021.html
What is....insanely stupid....is that over the past many years MSFT, GOOGL, AMZN and others put up earnings beat after earnings beat.....yet the market punishes them for forward guidance or.....investor concerns about AI build out...... or......some other IDIOCY. You would think that after years of beats quarter after quarter......the market might realize..... by looking back at the past concerns....that those concerns NEVER come true and there is ZERO impact on earnings. BUT......NOPE. As a result we have now squandered years of great earnings beats.....on foolish "investor" or speculative concerns....by people that are NOT in the tech business. What I want to know is.....who are these people expressing these "concerns". They are certainly NOT the management of the companies involved. Are they the usual.....MEDIA MORONS? Or are they short sellers or short speculators? Or both?
For example: META.....announced CAP EX in the earnings today....for AI build out: "The company also provided its 2026 capital expenditures guidance, saying it anticipates spending between $115 billion and $135 billion in 2026, up from the $72.22 billion the company spent in 2025." ZERO commentary about "investor concerns".....as the stock is up by over 8% after-hours. NOW. On the other hand MSFT for CAP EX AI build out: ".....the company is pouring billions more into capital expenditures, which hit $37.5 billion in the quarter, up from $22.6 billion in the second quarter of 2025." About $150BILLION.......and the stock is down after hours by nearly 5%. Strangely the "investor concerns"......whoever these "investors" are.....only seem to apply to MSFT. Even though the percentage of AI build out CAP EX increase appears to be higher in percentage terms for META. This is the "messaging" difference. META has done a very good job over the past few years of messaging and promoting their company in positive terms. MSFT, GOOGL, AMZN, AAPL, and others seem to suck in this area. Running a business successfully is only part of the game....you need skills to PROMOTE your business properly....in the current MEDIA environment.
