Yeah, if only we knew in advance. We could be really rich with that kind of info. It's kind of odd thinking about what may become down the road. Thinking back 20 years ago would be about 2006 in hindsight. Little did we know what was to become just a year or so after that. Still amazed where we are today in comparison. Looking forward 20 years. Probably look back then and wonder the same about some of it. Time is a funny thing to reflect on. I'll take a wild guess and bet that you will be significantly wealthier by then despite all that you may have to endure to get there.
I don't necessarily disagree with the ever-present availability of the noise. It can certainly be very loud. I don't disagree that a lot of it is BS and pointless, especially to long-term investors. I just don't think it is going to permanently disrupt our ability as long-term investors to make and get long term wealth. We will go on at some point, whenever that may be, and get some great returns. Will we still complain that it is BS and manipulation?? Does this only occur during corrections and bears?? Or are we going to say, well the market has just come to its senses. I'm not trying to be a smart aleck, so please don't receive it as such. I respect your opinion. We just have a difference here and that is perfectly okay.
Hi guys, haven’t been on in a while, but keep the head down. I moved some money around on Friday. I have been buying t bill ETFs over the last year for various reasons and moved about 1/5 of my t bills ETFs into VTI index fund.
Of course it is OK for us to have different opinions...." educated guesses"...about the future of the markets SMOKIE. I appreciate the good discussion. As I said I....HOPE.....your view is correct. I would hate for the markets to be lost to future generations.
Nice to hear from you again JWalker. Not a bad idea to have that available to deploy when there is a bit of a discount present.
Yes, indeed. Truth be known, this topic is probably already being betted on in some gambling platform.

A very nice article on the largest IPO in history. Be ready to buy SpaceX on Day 1 This is the moment private capital finally hands the baton to public markets for what might be the biggest infrastructure bet since the internet backbone was built in the 1990s. https://growordieinvesting.substack.com/p/be-ready-to-buy-spacex-on-day-1
The new.....BIG TOBACCO. No way the politicians will be able to stay out of this. Big Techbacco The growing risk that these companies are viewed as a cancer... https://spyglass.org/big-techbacco/
A nice little article on AI......and perhaps the future of the human species. AI has the worst sales pitch I've ever seen "Our product will make you economically useless, and possibly kill you" is not a value proposition. https://www.noahpinion.blog/p/ai-has-the-worst-sales-pitch-ive
AND....a nice little article on another BIG issue going forward. We Haven’t Seen the Worst of What Gambling and Prediction Markets Will Do to America I don’t think people have thought hard enough about how bad this could get. https://www.derekthompson.org/p/we-havent-seen-the-worst-of-what "Gambling is flourishing because it meets the needs of our moment: a low-trust world, where lonely young people are seeking high-risk opportunities to launch them into wealth and comfort. In such an environment, financialization might seem to be the last form of civic participation that feels honest to a large portion of the country."
Not a bad green open today....BUT....the NASDAQ has already turned RED. Dow rises after Trump says U.S. in ‘serious’ talks to end operation in Iran https://www.cnbc.com/2026/03/29/stock-market-today-live-updates.html
Talk about an "Alternative Asset". Logan Paul sold a Pokémon card for more than $16 million. Here’s why investors are watching https://www.cnbc.com/2026/03/29/pokemon-card-values-rise-logan-paul-pikachu-auction.html
The current market INSANITY. 2 'Magnificent 7' stocks see stunning plunges https://finance.yahoo.com/news/2-magnificent-7-stocks-see-stunning-plunges-130430799.html "The "Magnificent Seven" stock beatdown has been particularly painful for Microsoft (MSFT) and Meta (META). Microsoft is down about 35% from its October all-time highs, while Meta is down roughly 34% from its August all-time highs."
Just another day in the neighborhood. A mixed day for me so far with fours stocks green and three red. The news of the day for me.....of course good news is ALWAYS bad news.....PLTR is red so far today. A nice article regarding drawdowns, volatility, and returns after the downturns. A couple nice charts within the article. Obviously, we never know how far and how long some of this can last, but the data does show the reward does eventually come to those who stay with it. And getting a discount will often payoff down the road. https://awealthofcommonsense.com/2026/03/how-the-stock-market-performs-after-a-correction/
It's about time. I have seen so many people (children especially) absolutely glued to their phones, letting their brain liquify as they watch absolute nonsense for hours on end. It's pathetic. And these companies have leaned into it for profit. It's a mental health cancer. This might be the beginning of people getting a life again. Who knows? All I know is that unless something big changes, these companies do not care about their users and will extract as much out of them as they can.
I totally see where you are coming from. I think markets are being manipulated whether they go up or down. Whatever nets the most profit at the time. Whether this results in a fundamental macro change in the landscape over time remains to be seen. I want to be on the optimistic side like you, but there is that ever present mantra of "never enough" inherent in many that might not be overcome by pure capitalistic market forces.
Unfortunately Road....I dont think any amount of lawsuits or anything else will stop......"screen disease". The big claims and pay-outs did not stop big tobacco and they will not stop big social media or the young generation being hooked on screens. In the end the politicians will get their BILLIONS........and....the "system" will release the social media companies just like the tobacco litigation..
WOW....big surprise. I have a nice large....small gain in my stocks right now. In spite of NVDA, PLTR, and AAPL being RED.
