Hey broteau. I am sure they will do well in your ROTH.....and you will NEVER have to consider tax ramifications when you want to sell or re-balance. It is so easy when I want to do something in my sisters or kids IRA accounts. I can make changes with IMPUNITY.

TODAY....is a GREAT day so far. i actually only have 3 GREEN stocks right now...GOOGL, NVDA, and MSFT. BUT....the gain in NVDA is so big today that I have a big gain in my account so far today in my stocks.

NOW....I just have to hang on for the next 70 minutes till the close.

AND....the SP500 and NASDAQ are both green right now....not by much...but green is green.

I agree....but suspect many people would not.

Can Every Job Pay a Living Wage?

    https://thedailyeconomy.org/article/can-every-job-pay-a-living-wage/

....."The problem here is that the living wage argument implicitly assumes that wages should be determined by the needs of the workers rather than by the value of what they produce.".....

    AND

....."Wages, like any other price, reflect the economic realities of a particular time and place.".....

......."Prices do not reflect how important something feels. Instead, they reflect scarcity, marginal value, and human choices. Wages are no exception."......

    MY COMMENT

NO....business should not exist as a government tool for social or cultural adjustment. They should simply exist to make money for the owners and maximize value....LEGALLY....for the shareholders.

    Where you work...how hard you work....how long you work.....is a CHOICE....NOT a right.

AND......NO....once you go down this road of allowing workers to dictate business.....a company is screwed. Although I can not read this article since it is....."premium". If a worker does not like how a company is doing business.....they can exercise their right to LEAVE.

History tends to favor your view. Having said that, I am not sure AI is the same as some of our more disruptive advances though. AI tends to transcend all sectors. We'll see one way or the other in the end.

THIS.....will inevitably add to the HUGE dangers of the GAMBLING that masquerades as Prediction Markets.

Prediction markets prepare to invade one of crypto’s biggest and riskiest trades

    https://www.cnbc.com/2026/04/27/pre...e-of-cryptos-biggest-and-riskiest-trades.html

......"Perps outside the U.S. use something called an auto deleveraging system, meaning exchanges automatically liquidate trader positions, causing big liquidation cascades that trigger big single-day drawdowns in crypto prices. That’s perhaps why U.S. regulators haven’t previously been comfortable allowing the contracts to be traded domestically, Lau added.".....

Another DISASTER waiting to happen in our markets if we allow this sort of GAMBLING. I have no doubt....we will.

I was looking at my NVDA in my primary brokerage account. I purchased my first shares the first half of 2021. I was looking to see how my best shares have done.

I have shares in 2021 that are UP by.....+1,344%.

I have sharers in 2022 that are UP by......+1,339%% and +1,396% and the big one +1,653%.

The above are the leading shares in my NVDA gains.....of course.....I have many different share purchase dates in the account...... in addition to the above. I am not in my account right now...... but I think the WORST shares I have...... that are not relatively new..... are averaging at least +800%. An AMAZING stock.

    RIDING THE WAVE....is an understatement.

Another "PAY" article that I can not see. BUT just the headline raises a few points.

Investors usually ‘sell in May and go away.’ Why that may not work this year

    https://www.cnbc.com/2026/04/27/inv...-go-away-why-that-may-not-work-this-year.html

NO...."investors".....do NOT "usually"....sell in May and go away. AND....NO....saying it may not work this year....implies that is usually works.

EVEN....AI....knows this is a DUMB idea:

"Missed Gains: Data shows that staying in the market usually yields better long-term returns, and missing out on potential summer rallies can cost investors money.

"Sell in May and go away" is a historically backed market adage suggesting stocks underperform from May to October compared to November–April. While the period often shows lower returns or higher volatility, it is not a reliable strategy; historically, all months average positive returns, and selling can mean missing gains, making it a risky, often outdated strategy
    ."

    MY COMMENT

I HATE how the media out of STUPIDITY or worse...INTENTIONAL DISTORTION......talks about "TRADERS" as "INVESTORS"......and applies that to all the retail investors with their IDIOTIC advice.

Ya ROTH IRAs are awesome, no tax consequences. And I assume they have a couple $$ built up, because they were able to contribute before the cut off income limits.

My middle daughter, 26yo, the one that is working plus working on her masters at Pepperdine, just went past the income limit this year. I may have to remove a small contribution, she had about $2500 left in her Schwab 529 plan, so I used the loophole and closed the account, and put it in her personal ROTH IRA, Oops, smart kid, she also has a ROTH 401K at her work. She's been maxing her contributions for 3 years. The girls have a 2nd 529 plan at Edward Jones. I have been managing them for 7 years now. And I have familiarized myself with the FUNDS , even though they are high fee mutualfunds, I was able to beat the sp500 last year, thanks to some UNUSUAL for me , global funds, that returned 31% . I have also been siphoning off $60,000 annually, and contributing it to their personal Shwab accounts the last 4 years. As long as they dont marry a dumba$$, that wants to just spend money, they should be ok. Ow and prenuptial's are required by ME !! That way they dont have to have that uncomfortable discussion. They can Blame me !!

I am playing with about 20 different dividend stocks in the Income Account. All different types, riets, open ended, closed end, energy, MORT, PRIVATE MONEY ........
I started off with $208,000 worth, value now $216,800 and rhe income from that over the next 12 months will be $15,436.
Pretty good dividends, and I could go in and fine tune it to increase that ........
The tradeoff is lack of growth. But if your 70 years old ,who cares, you want income.
I did it just to fund the wife's checking account every month. Auto deposit from Schwab, and I dont have to worry as much about her running out of cash during the month. She also has 2 IRA's they make quarterly deposits.

Well , Thank you again for the insights on investing. I am passing them along to my daughter's. With all the investments they have, they are going to do pretty good. Bonus, because of their investments they are in a rather unique situation. They are generally BETTER OFF than the guys they date. Makes for different dynamics in the relationship . Well all except that middle daughter, despite her earnings and investments, she has to go and date a rocket scientist, literally, he works for SPACEX. and guess how those annual bonuses are paid. Yup , stock, but he is actually asking her for investment, stock advice. I love it !!

Thanks for sharing the update and posts. So enjoyable to see/read others thoughts and plans in the real investing world. These type posts are so much more informative than all of the short term media articles. Nice to see and hear how others are doing and thinking versus the daily filler noise.
