YES....I agree SMOKIE. This morning was a wake up call. AND....it gave me a chance to get familiar with posting on the other site.....which is now actually normal to me. YES...my goal is the same.....keep in touch with this group.
just wanted to drop by to say that i give a big second to this as well. i’ve known rui (RG) here spanning back many many years. in fact, outside of gil (owner of this site) him and i are the two longest standing members currently at this community. i remember when rui first showed up at the old HSM (hotstockmarket) board. that was around the time of the GFC (great financial crisis). he is no doubt a valuable member of this community. very bright and knows his stuff and knows it well imo. really have enjoyed reading his input here since day 1 of him being at this community. many members have come and gone over the 20 years i’ve been at this place - but i will say i’m really glad rui has stuck around through all of the changes here. and there have been many since 2006! fun fact: did you guys know that this site back in 2006 was running on the vBulletin platform up until around 2010 when gil moved us into the huddler platform. this version of the community we have today has only been around since 2016 - interestingly enough with this year marking a decade from when we restarted on the xenforo platform and got the name change from hotstockmarket to stockaholics. it’s crazy to think it’s been 20 years now - and have seem members of this community pass away. bob korreck (remember him rui?) is one that come to mind…and also tiptoptrader. some good memories for sure. anyway, this posts getting a bit sidetracked (sorry) it’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride here at the community over the years that is for sure. glad to see this community is still around, sure it’s nothing even close to big community we had back in the heydays but to be perfectly honest with you all - i much prefer the community we have today over the community we had years ago. this group of posters is some of the most loyal and dedicated i have seen. not to mention some of the brightest minds on any message board that i have personally been apart of. truly do mean this from the heart. <3 cheers to all. and best wishes to each of you in life and in the markets.
Nice historical perspective Bigbear. It is always interesting to know the history of something and how it came to be. Very important to take note of that and not take for granted. An impressive run for sure. Especially when you consider the social platforms today. There are things still worth saving. I would say after all these years it is still defying the odds.
One other thing….actually two. The ability of new members at the other site is a huge deal. I think while I was there today I seen at least a couple of new ones lurking around and even checking out the Long Term thread. That gives us a chance to build a good following there, so if we run out of luck here, we have a good base already going. Secondly, I believe in paying it forward and doing good for others that have helped. Bigbear opened his doors and welcomed us without fear or favor. I want to repay that kindness in our time of need. I will be active in that thread and try to help the site. Any poster here is welcome to contribute there as well. Even if it is to drop by here and there.
YES......I agree SMOKIE. I will support both sites.....for now. I dont want to lose people that dont want to leave here. BUT at the same time I like the fact that we can get new people to sign into the other site.....and hopefully bring new energy.
Guys!! What has been going on??? I thought I lost you all. I haven't been able to access the site for weeks, and then suddenly it's back! Did the site not go down for anyone else? I see you have been posting. I will register at the other site as a backup. I will go wherever W is posting. I find the stockforums site pretty confusing, I guess it should be better on a desktop. I've signed up, verified an account, but not able to post. I'll say again, the site I mentioned before was Nexus.Fi, IMO simple and user friendly site, well managed as well.

The place has been basically compromised a bit with "malicious SEO-injection and redirect hack." Even AI is apparently confirming it at this point below: Let me edit that. It actually showed some of the malicious tabs and links.....might not be safe . Don't want anyone clicking around on that. Basically, the site has been injected with some suspicious redirect links and all sorts of other "opportunities" to redirect and impose malware type crap.
yikes. thanks for passing this along in here smokie. yea that may explain why google has pulled this site from the searches as well. it all just seems very suspect. i feel it’s even more disconcerting the fact that the admin here hasn’t even addressed yesterday’s outage or nothing really. no site updates, or anything to reassure the community here that all is fine and that yesterday was just a hiccup. i’m not sure how hard it can be to take a few minutes out of the day to throw up an announcement addressing all of this. it’s unfortunate. yea, tbh i’m not even sure how comfortable i feel personally just simply logging into this site and posting with all that’s happened to this site over the past few weeks. it doesn’t sit well with me. nevertheless the site is back online. for how long is really anyone’s guess as we hear nothing from the powers that be. think i may log out here and not check back in here again because i’m just not sure how safe this site is to actually be on. one thing is for sure - at the other site i won’t ever plaster the site with ridiculous ads everywhere. it will be an ad-fee site always and forever.

As I was laying in bed this morning I was thinking about the markets this year. I started the year....as usual....at ZERO. Since that time....over the past 7 months.....I have hit a year to date in my entire portfolio of....+10% twice. I have gone to (-10%) once. I have dropped back to close to ZERO twice. It has been a very ERRATIC year. At this moment I am at about....+11% year to date. THIS is the short term life of a LONG TERM INVESTOR. I sit and IGNORE it all. I REFUSE to CHURN my own account trying to deal with the short term market insanity.

YES...it has been an AMAZING MELT UP. A sudden stealth RALLY. this is why I am fully invested for the long term....all the time. You have to be in the market to capture the big gains that seem to come out of nowhere.
