This new find contains the most pervasive coarse visible gold seen in bedrock on the Plateau property to date and has been named the Bonanza zone. It is an extensive quartz stockwork system containing widespread visible gold and remains open in all directions. The new zone is exposed on surface over an area measuring 20 by 12 metres before it is covered by overburden. Initial mapping of the Bonanza zone confirms two distinct sets of veining, containing coarse visible gold, that measure between 0.6 and 1.2 m wide, span the entire extent of the outcrop and remain open in all directions. The visible gold occurs within and on the margins of the quartz veins. The largest pieces of visible gold initially observed are a coarse circular-shaped piece of gold measuring five millimetres across and another elongated-shaped piece of coarse gold measuring six mm. The mapping and prospecting program is just getting under way and will continue to focus on both expanding the known areas of gold mineralization and discovering new mineralized zones in the surrounding area, which remains underexplored as demonstrated by the new Bonanza zone discovery. Structural mapping is also being carried out at the Goldstack zone to confirm the structural controls on the gold mineralization in preparation for drilling. The drilling is designed to expand on the known gold mineralization both along strike and to depth, where it remains open. The Goldstack zone is a seven-metre-wide gold-bearing outcrop that was drilled in 2015 and intersected 17.5 metres grading 13.5 grams per tonne gold true width, including 5.7 metres of 35.28 grams per tonne (1.03 ounces per tonne) gold that remains open, as reported in Goldstrike's news release dated Sept. 9, 2015. "The discovery of this new gold-rich zone has significantly expanded the known extent of this new district-scale gold system," said Goldstrike director Trevor Bremner. "The Goldstrike team is very excited that these results have been achieved so early in the program. African Queen starts placer mining at Yellowjacket 2016-07-06 07:04 ET - News Release Shares issued 93,991,485 AQ Close 2016-07-05 C$ 0.11 Mr. Irwin Olian reports PLACER MINING OPERATIONS COMMENCE AT AFRICAN QUEEN'S YELLOWJACKET GOLD PROJECT Placer mining operations have commenced on an area of approximately 39.46 hectares of placer lease 361733 of African Queen Mines Ltd.'s Yellowjacket gold project, which covers an aggregate of 228.04 square kilometres in the historic Pine Creek and Spruce Creek areas nine km east of Atlin, B.C. The placer mining operations are being conducted by Matt Norris and his affiliates under a five-year placer mining agreement with the company which provides for successive one-year lease renewals and a 10-per-cent gross royalty payable to the company on all production, as further described in the company's news release dated Feb. 16, 2016. Rights to hardrock deposits in the bedrock underlying the placer targets are reserved to the company. The current placer operations are subject to permit No. P-1-814 issued to Norris by the B.C. Ministry of Energy and Mines. Said permit authorizes approved placer mining operations at the project at four specific areas for the approximate five-year period ending March 31, 2021, together with related exploration activities such as test pits and processing infrastructure. Initial operations comprise test mining on the south bank of Pine Creek and will be expanded on a result contingent basis. Placer mining equipment on-site now includes a new Macon Welding Ltd. Super Sluice 800 capable of processing approximately 150 yards of gravel per hour, a 450 Hitachi excavator, a Cat 966 loader and a Cat D8 bulldozer. The water-pumping system on-site is capable of pumping 4,000 gallons per minute through the 10-inch waterline. The operation can be expanded on a modular basis by adding further units as desired.
