Average closing price S&P 500 Index: 201.52 Calculated Range: (+/-)3.65% 208.87 High 194.16 Low How to interpret this data. Range in this situation isn't used to trade technically off and on the SR lines of the High and the Low. It's used to gauge the activity of the market and NOT to form support/resistance lines on the index. By using these two numbers. A couple things are given to the trader. 1. The market activity (High activity/Low activity) 2. Trading in the short term or longer term. More in the next post within the week. **Calculated figures are based on my numbers and my sources.
This is a big month as the Quarterly Earnings will be coming out at the end of this month. I will be mainly looking to trade weekly options this month due to the increase in activity this month. I'm very excited for this month, but before I actually take any positions, I need to evaluate the market further and see which direction the market is headed towards for this year. Because every year there is at least one quarter that underperforms, I'll have to make sure that I don't put my capital in risk by allowing my portfolio to take a hit. Things that I will be putting out: Direction of the market GDP Prediction for this quarter After these I will also put out information regarding: Which markets are performing with the direction that is calculated Which Sectors is outperforming and which Sectors are underperforming Feel free to comment on this journal and chat with me.
