Exponent beats 3Q profit forecasts MENLO PARK, Calif. (AP) _ Exponent Inc. (EXPO) on Wednesday reported third-quarter earnings of $11.3 million. On a per-share basis, the Menlo Park, California-based company said it had net income of 42 cents. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 33 cents per share. The engineering and scientific consulting company posted revenue of $74.2 million in the period. Exponent shares have risen slightly since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $50.12, an increase of roughly 3 percent in the last 12 months.
