Fiat Chrysler to invest $500 million to revamp Argentina plant Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCAU) will invest $500 million to revamp its Cordoba plant in Argentina where a new model will be produced next year. The new model will be launched in the second half of 2017 and, once fully operational, the plant will have a total production capacity of more than 100,000 vehicles per year. "We have decided to install a new modular platform for the production of a completely new model that will only be produced at this plant, with the majority of production destined for export," FCA Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said at a ceremony on Tuesday in Argentina that was also attended by Argentine President Mauricio Macri. More than 80 percent of the production will be destined for exports, primarily to markets in Latin America.
FCAU will probably feel the heat from the Model 3 of TSLA. On the bright side, Jeep and RAM will always keep FCAU a small part of the puzzle and a buyout candidate. Sergio Marchionne just needs to work his magic on some sort of merger.
Fiat Chrysler slashes price of Dodge Dart compact car DETROIT -- Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said today it is "repositioning" its Dodge Dart and is cutting the price by $1,100 or more for the three remaining variations it will sell as it tries to boost sales of the struggling compact car. The Dart has been a disappointing car for Fiat Chrysler ever since it was launched in 2012. At the time, the automaker hoped the Dart would become a credible competitor to other compact cars such as the Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. The car is a little larger than many of its direct competitors and was under-powered when it was launched. It also came in a dizzying array of color and option combinations that were intended to appeal to young buyers but made it difficult for dealers to predict which variations to order for customers. Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne also said in January that both the Dart and the Chrysler 200 midsize sedan will "run their course" -- meaning they will eventually be phased out. Fiat Chrysler CEO says can build Tesla Model 3 rival if makes business sense Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCAU) could build an Italian-style rival to Tesla's Model 3 within 12 months if the electric carmaker can prove the vehicle makes business sense, FCA Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said on Friday. Tesla (TSLA) said last week it had received more than 325,000 orders for its new Model 3 sedan in the first week of bookings, although there is no certainty it will be able to convert all those orders into sales as many of them could be canceled. Somehow this drop below $7 slipped through my radar. My last trade in FCAU was from $6.90 up to $8.04 for a 16-17% gain, although it went much higher. Looking for another entry sub-$7. Currently at $7.05 and I'd look for an entry around today's open at $6.95 for another ride up into the $8's for another big gainer.

Nice move, but in the weekly chart the macd is below the signal. Think this will go up a bit more, and see if the weekly macd changes, else look for a pullback to start 2018.
