Just got the pamphlet by the door today! They had finished up the wiring/installation of my home just the other week...so it's almost ready! You better bet I will be dropping my TWC/Spectrum service as soon as I can! Good riddance to TWC! Fiber FTW!
Too bad I don't think Google Fiber will be in Hawaii anytime soon lol. Actually I just had to pay $30 one time fee to upgrade my wifi since it was so super slow.
I can't wait to get up and running! In fact I am going to call them up tomorrow to see if I can get service hooked up as soon as this month! I am very fortunate that we were one of the selected cities for Google Fiber here in the Queen City. Albeit, I will say that it took a good 12 months of serious construction work all around my neighborhood! I never thought they'd never finish! Lol. It's going to be amazing being able to stream on up to 10 devices all at the same time and not experience any lag! I may even run a few servers out of my home as well. I already run node on my current TWC connection, albeit it is laggy as heck. It will be amazing to host it on Fiber and not experience any lag whatsoever.
Whelp, I called them up the other day ... looks like I could be officially connected with Fiber service by as soon as this Thursday!
Google fiber already is working on a switch to wireless. They bought webpass and now offer wireless in Cali, Miami, Boston , Chicago. Also Google fiber workforce has been slashed. I feel they know with wireless so close its a waste to invest so much in landline.
You are lucky Cy, too bad seems like Google isn't going to expand the Fiber to the new cities in the near future
The wait is almost over (finally)! After months of tedious construction work in my neighborhood and wiring to my home, etc. I will finally be hooked up with Fiber service! Just 2 more days to go. I am seriously stoked.
Lucky bastard. I would love to have Fiber in my area, but haven't heard any rumors about it coming this way any time soon.
Whelp, it has been 2 days now that I have been running on GF ... and I can already tell you that this has been about the most amazing online experience I have EVER had! I love the fact that I am able to stream on 10 devices (all simultaneously mind you!) and not experience ANY lag or freezing up! Not kidding here. I also love how sharper and clearer the picture quality is on their TV service (Fiber TV it's called) ... waaaaay flipping better than Time Warner Cable garbage ever was! Oh and their Fiber TV app is pretty damn sweet as well. Take that TWC! In addition- I am also able to run multiple servers off of my home connection ... so I am literally running our Discord bot (ChartBot) off of my GF line as we speak! How cool is that? Haha! Oh, and did I mention how websites literally just flash up on my screen upon clicking a link? Holy schnikes!!! It's like they pop up w/o me even clicking anything! Lol! Needless to say here I am pretty damn satisfied with the service thus far! This was definitely a nice early X-mas and B-day gift for me. Google Fiber for the win baby!!! Good riddance TWC!!

Sounds like quite the deal. I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat if it came to my area. I have a buddy in the Kansas City area that has it and loves it as well.
