Hello guys, I am a 26 years old guy from Poland. I am studying econophysics and working as a data scientist at a bank. I am here because I want to gain some knowledge about investing and stuff. I was lurking for some time and now I think that it is a good moment to introduce myself. So, Hi ;d
Welcome aboard fichtenholz and you landed at the right website. I hope you enjoy your stay here and make dużo pieniędzy.
hello fichtenholz welcome aboard from me as well (I find strange and at the same time enjoyable for an Italian welcoming a Polish on an American forum)
Welcome aboard. Ask away on investment questions and contribute where you can on economics. Your field sounds facinating, tell us a little about what it entails. Thanks...
Yup, econophysics term sounds scary and a lot of people are making "big eyes" when they hear what i am into. Econophysics is a relatively young brach of physics. Approach that tries to describe a market behaviour by physics methods. I am studying at Institute of Physics So at the Uni we had a lots physics lecture and only few economy lecture. So after 5 years of studying i feel more like physicist than economist ;d But at work I am doing statistical models for i.e client segmentation (debt collection etc). And now I am here trying to learn new things that seems to be very hard to learn but also interesting At the moment i am not ready for invest real money do i am playing some games on marketwatch. Glad to be here
yes and there are bunch of people who do this! R.N. Mantegna, H.E. Stanley are responsible for origin of econophysics . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Econophysics I have some interesting papers from stock analysis with physical method. I can try to review them / try to use them on real data if i find some time
