OK, so I'm not really sure why I'm even starting a thread in here for this very basic question. :p

But, seeing as I haven't found anything material online in my searches I thought I would try here as a last resort just in case anyone might be lurking and would be able to help.

Anyway, I'll just get right to it with my question here.

You guys may have noticed today that we lost our MarketWatch news feed widget on our main front page of the forums here.

    This one-

MarketWatch has now disabled the ability to "<iframe>" the widget into the page here. You can only view the widget on MarketWatch.

So, this is what we're now left with-

    Nothing. Just a blank page.

I did do some Google searches earlier today but unfortunately I didn't really find anything meaningful. The alternatives were really just all over the place.

Anyway, if anyone knows of any other alternatives to iframe using some basic HTML code hit me up in here. Many thanks in advance!

I'm not sure how many of you guys used that MarketWatch news feed widget on our front page, but I used it pretty regularly myself. Kind of a big loss here if you ask me.

If they are not offering a script alternative, I guess they just felt the bandwidth costs were not worth it.

when i get back from my 4th of july mini-vaca next weekend ima look into this some more and see if there is another news feed widget we can add here.

i could be wrong but i think i remember seeing investing.com offering something of a news feed site widget.

i'm really missing the marketwatch feed. that was about as good as i've seen it.

and if anyone knows of any other feeds out there feel free to post 'em up in here as well. thx!

I agree, MW feed was pretty good!

Would it be too much PITA to embed Marketwatch RSS feed using html? Sorry I can't help troubleshoot at the moment...just brainstorming here a bit.

just coming back to this as i had some free time this afternoon.

thanks again @Three Eyes for sharing all of that.

unfortunately i couldn't use the rssinclude service because it wasn't using iframe in https, so i had use another service called rssdog. seems to be working fine.

i tried to make this look about as identical as we previously had before.

let me know what you guys think.

^^ scratch that marketwatch rss feed ... didn't really like it too much. wasn't pulling much of any market-related news. just a lot of garbage.

going with reuters business news feed instead...much better if you ask me. also pulls global market news as well.

i also changed up the font size a bit so it wasn't coming out too large.

    how's this one looking?

hmm ... that reuters rss news feed seems to be a bit repetitive with its articles ... have noticed the same article being pulled every other hour or so.

i'll try cnbc's rss feed and see if that is any better.

any other good market-related rss news feeds you guys know of besides the one's that i've already tried?

edit: i think i found one that i like!

    https://www.investing.com/rss/investing_news.rss

^^ this one pulls all the news feeds from investing.com
