Can anyone help me to determine two things.

First, 100 shares of ATT purchase in 1979 (have the paper document) how much is that worth today?

Are these actual shares of ATT or is this just a record of what was owned at one point?

Someone please tell me this is actually 100 shares of ATT from 1979 and that it's worth thousands and thousands now. View attachment 2280

Worth a call to investors relations. Besides the current price the compounding on Divi's would be huge

I've read online that it's since broken into several companies, ATT, Verizon and others?

But I can't figure out yet how many shares of each I'd have.

Are they under-with your name on ? (not sure if you say bearer or nominative)

I don't know how is the America's law-policy but here if you are not the holder are useless... can't cash in....
like TTT said >>> Worth a call to investors relations
or call your broker or the one who issued them

    good luck

I said that because few months ago my son in law (got a building firm) while demolishing a house found some shares certificates , to cut short all the passages-steps done as they where nominative (the owner had die) no one could cash them (they were worth €500k )

Turns out they were sold years ago.

Ah well. Was worth a few nights of dreams.
