    Hi everyone,
I hadn't posted since I joined cause I hadn't had much to report. I started 2021 with 47.3K in my positions and I thought I would post my winners and losers. I'm still learning, had a bunch of losers but also some serious winners. Note that the winners may have been bought in Q4 2020.
I've learned the consequences of letting losses exceed > 7% and now I'm more careful about ditching losers early.
I'm currently at 48.7K so I've gained just under 3%. I was at 49.5 on Monday but I got hurt bad Tues and Wed.
    Any thoughts for improvement?

    Winners (realized)

    Sdiv - 18.94%
    Codi - 21.13%
    Frg - 14.11%
    Abbv - 16.49%

    Winners (unrealized)

    Cssep - 11.69%
    Lily - 11.78%
    Nvax - 26.52 % (if today's pretrading trend holds)

    Losers

Aten -5.42% (good financials. Thought it would do OK)
Ego -7.7% (read in wsj that copper is coming to be a hot commodity)
Expr -55% (I bet a small amount hoping to get in on the craze)
Otic -5.62 (good financials. Thought it would do OK)
Pki -5.4% (good financials. Thought it would do OK)
Stz -5.28 (good financials. Thought it would do OK. I still have 1/2 my stake which is down 4.03%)
Vrs - 8.16 (not sure what I was thinking)

So, you're new to investing so you picked up 14 stocks this morning and were trading 45 minutes later?

I am pulling for you to make it as a trader.

Thanks Tom. I'm trying to learn. Been a tough last 2 weeks after a good 1st 2 weeks of January. I grew my positions 2% overall from 1/12021 so far which isn't anything to write home about but it is still a positive 2% and not a negative. Some less than great purchases cost me another 1 or 2%.

Yeah, thats no good. You should be doubling your money every 7 days, 10 in the worst case.

I'm kidding. 2% per month is an excellent return. Its not as good as just buying VOO and doing nothing, but it's an excellent return, all the same.

Suffice to say, I'm not all that knowledgeable on trading. Hopefully, someone more appropriate will come along and give you some advice or encouragement.

... Because my recommendation is to buy an index and then focus your life energy on meeting a great woman and having a nice life.

    Cheers, gtrudeau88. Bonne chance.
