Check the MER, that is the fee that the fund managers get. With a no load fund, the management fees may be higher, but not always. Front load funds are usually sold to you by brokers, its their commission in getting you into the fund. If you are picking your own funds, there is no need to get a front load fund unless you simply like wasting money
