As adviced I start this thread since questions like "What happens to shares of a company going bankrupt?" or "Do I get some sort of compensation?" are expected to be quite common. So ask them here!
As a holder of common stock you get bupkis! Bond holders get some shit, but the shareholders get to use their shares as toilet paper. Now there is always a possible restructuring and reverse splits of various kinds. Eg for every 1000 shares you get 1 share of the new company, so bankrupt companies can keep trading on in different forms, but those left holding the bag will rarely get anything of value except a great lesson on why buy and hold is sometimes not the best strategy.
Oh, you really need to write a thread about your SUNE experience here: http://stockaholics.net/forums/tifu.23/ Somethign like: TIFU by buying SUNE and holding it while it crashed!
