s and p 500

    Anyone know anything about the s and p 500. I know nothing about the market what so ever

    I would guess that the SP500 is one of the most common investments used by people in their IRA or 401K. Usually in the form of a SP500 Index Fund. The companies that are in the SP500 are the BIG CAP cream of the crop of American business.

    Go to the market carpet for the S&P 500 index on finviz.com and you'll see and can hover over all 500 components for more info. The bigger the rectangle the bigger the market capitalization and the more influence it has on the index.
