Does anyone know of a site where I can setup a text alert for is a stock or index moves a certain percentage it will shoot me a text (for free). I have found multiple sites that will provide an e-mail, but I need a text.

    Thanks!

Maybe your brokerage already does this? I know TD Ameritrade does.

Otherwise, there's this, although I've never tried it.

TD Ameritrade/Think Or Swim. The alerts and their stock screener are the main reason why I still have an account. I don't really trade that account anymore and don't keep a lot of money in the account.

There is no minimum to open an account so as long as you are funded, you should have access to their tools.

Well I have scottrade and IB - so once TD fully takes over Scottrade maybe I could use that.

If nothing has changed, you can open a TD Ameritrade account and not even fund it, then use the ToS software for paper trading. You can set alerts with it without even funding an account.
