Looks like lot's of earnings coming up this next week and the week after. Seems like that usually means a higher market.
We'll see what happens after NFLX drops Volatile at ATH (seems this rise was largely fueled by takeover rumors), those big red candles on 6/9 and 6/12. JPM crushed earnings but didn't move up, so it seems like this market needs good earnings to see good results. It's not as bullish as before imo. On the other hand, they're not really dropping either.
All three banks on friday that reported earnings dropped in price. Yet the market still went up. Therefore, I'm not convinced earnings results have much of an affect on the markets. Seems like they would, be we've been launching upward for a week now and down banks didn't seem to slow that.
Man it must suck to have been in the APRN IPO and holding on just to get news that AMZN is possibly coming to eat your pie!
NFLX has had a huge jump after hours due to earnings (Although they missed on earnings, but had a lot of subscribers). This caused the market to jump up at the end of the day. Now I'm hearing Health Care isn't going to get through the senate and suddenly the market is selling off (Not really, it went down a point and a half, but in this environment, that's a crash!). By tomorrow I assume the BTFD folks will have brought things back to +10 in the ES.
Futures slightly lower while the dollar and yields also moving lower after the failure of Senate healthcare bill
McConnell has announced he will now introduce the full repeal bill from the House. Which isn't really a full repeal bill. It keeps Obamacare in place for the next 2 years giving them time to come up with something and replace it. Which means in two years, they'll extend it for another 2 years, kind of like what they do with tax breaks.
I watch the futures a lot at night. Guess I'm a boring guy. /ES futures. And usually it's around 50/50 on the BID/ASK and sometimes as high as 150/150 when it's slow. Right now, it's 49/850 on the BID/ASK. I don't normally see it that lopsided.
