Stockaholics Weekly T/A Charting Challenge Rules & Guidelines:

1.) Participants will take turns each week to post up a chart.

2.) Participants (including the chart picker) will need to then vote on the direction of the chart for the week (starting points from Friday's close), and will have up until 9:30am eastern time on the first trading day of the week. There will be a new poll up for each new week. Members who correctly predict the direction (Up or Down) of the chart by week's end will receive 10 points in the members leaderboard for that week.

3.) Members who also provide some rationale for their direction vote (this can be brief) will be awarded another 2 points in the members leaderboard.

4.) Members who simply "participate" in the challenge will receive 1 point for the week.

Remember...the chart direction poll closes at the opening bell on the first trading day of the new week! So try to get those votes in ASAP!

So, w/o getting into further ado have at it with the T/A on this week's charting challenge!

(Chart to be posted in here sometime after the market closes on Friday.)

    Huh... I have TWTR weekly candle O: 32.83 , C: 32.88?

Anyway how about a high flyer with some volatility for this weeks pick?

    Going with UP on YETI:

Strong momentum pull back to the ma(9) play and a nice lower wick.

@Steven_Burt - for this weekly t/a comp i use friday's closing prices as the starting points, which i know is different from our other competitions that uses monday's opening prices. i've always been using friday's closing prices since i began running this.

so for twtr yeah it was down -0.42% from last friday to this friday close ;)

    3/22/19 closing price: 33.02
    3/29/19 closing price: 32.88 (-0.42%)

In the mid to long term I think the cause is used up. In the short term there has been a change of character, a potential for an end to the short-term uptrend. I expect we'll see it test higher into the $31 area but it needs to build more cause (consolidate) this coming week. Where it will sit by the end of next week is hard to say but I'll go with Down.

One of the old school tech rules of thumb for momentum stocks was to sell once your upwardly-mobile stock *closed* below the 10 DMA. This thing punctured the 10-day on Friday, but closed above it. Plus, @Onepoint272 's chart shows a nice black volume bar to go with that upward thrust on a down day at the end of the week. So, gonna vote:

    UP

    UP

imo I anticipate it starting with an up move, then giving it mostly back throughout the week.
