Stockaholics Weekly T/A Charting Challenge Rules & Guidelines:

1.) Participants will take turns each week to post up a chart.

2.) Participants (including the chart picker) will need to then vote on the direction of the chart for the week (starting points from Friday's close), and will have up until 9:30am eastern time on the first trading day of the week. There will be a new poll up for each new week. Members who correctly predict the direction (Up or Down) of the chart by week's end will receive 10 points in the members leaderboard for that week.

3.) Members who also provide some rationale for their direction vote (this can be brief) will be awarded another 2 points in the members leaderboard.

4.) Members who simply "participate" in the challenge will receive 1 point for the week.

Remember...the chart direction poll closes at the opening bell on the first trading day of the new week! So try to get those votes in ASAP!

So, w/o getting into further ado have at it with the T/A on this week's charting challenge!

(Chart to be posted in here sometime after the market closes on Friday.)

    I'll guess UP on EFX.
    • The monthly and weekly charts show price smack dab in the middle of a trading range.
    • On the daily chart I believe a trading range within a trading range is developing. The larger with selling climax at ~115 and automatic rally at ~124. The smaller is also just developing with a buying climax at ~124 and automatic reaction at ~120.50. If the smaller TR is valid then it should rebound to retest the buying climax this coming week based on intraday analysis following.
    • Intraday, based on point and figure charts with calculations shown on the vertical chart below, it did not manifest all the cause built for the last up-wave. It fell short of the 125.50 projection. Then it built small cause which was used up in the down-wave and in fact was oversold after the Ex-Dividend event. I suspect it will build a little more cause and then go up to retest 123.86 and uptrend channel, and the resistance line at 123.75.

Voting down - getting a little overbought on the weekly and expect more market decline this week. Possible support at the MA on the daily at 115, holding so far this time.

Wait a second you can guess on a TA thread? I guess now I don't feel so bad

The daily, weekly, and monthly RSI are all just below 60. I recently learned about Cardwell RSI, which takes a slightly more nuanced view of RSI, compared to the normal "30 is oversold, 70 is overbought".
If this week is up, then weekly RSI would be above 60 which would indicate bullishness, at least in that time frame. I don't think this stock should be bullish, so I'm voting DOWN.

    UP

On the daily, EFX just golden crossed a month ago and is using that ascending 50 DMA as a base to separate further from the 200 DMA.
