Stockaholics Weekly T/A Charting Challenge Rules & Guidelines:

1.) Participants will take turns each week to post up a chart.

2.) Participants (including the chart picker) will need to then vote on the direction of the chart for the week (starting points from Friday's close), and will have up until 9:30am eastern time on the first trading day of the week. There will be a new poll up for each new week. Members who correctly predict the direction (Up or Down) of the chart by week's end will receive 10 points in the members leaderboard for that week.

3.) Members who also provide some rationale for their direction vote (this can be brief) will be awarded another 2 points in the members leaderboard.

4.) Members who simply "participate" in the challenge will receive 1 point for the week.

Remember...the chart direction poll closes at the opening bell on the first trading day of the new week! So try to get those votes in ASAP!

So, w/o getting into further ado have at it with the T/A on this week's charting challenge!

(Chart to be posted in here sometime after the market closes on Friday.)

It seems we are at the top of the list, @bigbear0083 chose last week and @Steven_Burt has been MIA (gone fishing), so ADA is next.

We could use some fresh meat here, if there are any willing to join in.

I thought @Steven_Burt was gonna be back by now?

Two weeks from now (my next scheduled turn) would put us at the week of July 21? I'm wandering from Estonia over to Finland that weekend. I'll see what I can do! If I don't post by say, noon (Eastern), on Saturday the 20th then maybe @rStock might need to jump in.

    Yeah, I think's it's *very* okay! I'm voting...

    UP

...on account of that symmetrical triangle forming on an uptrend.

This is looking unanimous. I'm going with UP also. I'll add that the ease of movement is up in this coil.

Probably not a bad swing trade. I see the base as 8.90-7.40 = 1.50. Added to the 8.60 breakout area gives a target of 10.10; indicating a test of that 9.96 swing high on May 30th. With a purchase at 8.40, stop at 7.75 and target at 9.90, the risk would be 65 cents and reward 1.50 giving a 2.3 to 1 reward to risk ratio.

I picked this because it ranges 17% a week. Been having trouble overtaking the 20 sma, but other than that I guess I can't make much of an argument for the other side this week. Also voting UP.

Well, so much for "pattern" trading, sometimes they work and sometimes not. Appears to be in phase B, the erratic unpredictable phase, of a trading range...the selling climax (SC) was defended. The tests are on lower volume (no further supply of stock for sale) so perhaps it will make its way back up to test the weekly pivot and print green for the week, so that we can all be right for the wrong reasons.
