You'll want to start in the education section. Learn about Technical analysis of charts, how to read fundamentals, and decide what your goals are trading. Do you want to retire young? Are you trying to buy a yacht next year? Do you just want to make 10% a year for 30 years? How averse to risk are you? Etc. From there you'll know what type of research you should be doing.

You should start by paper trading as well. When paper trading, make sure to make all of your investments the same relative size that you'll be trading in the real world so you get a feel for exactly what you'll actually be making/losing. Trade it THE SAME WAY you would trade your real money. Don't just gamble on stuff for fun because it's fake. Use it as a learning experience.
