Would you rather be rich but sick or happy with just enough money?

What is money good for if you don’t have good health to enjoy life. Health is more important than money

I'd rather be happy and just have enough. I know a lot of people who are rich and famous, but still lonely and incomplete. Just look at Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain who both have depression, they committed suicide in spite of being rich and famous.

    Poor and happy.

It's easy to be drawn into a quest for money but it's an unhealthy compulsion. The real goal is freedom.

Quick story. I've traded health for money for 20 years. Lots of stress, yelling, and general bs in my career. The last company i worked for threw me in with the most savage clients. They told me I was well suited since i can take copious amounts of abuse without losing composure. It tore me down on the inside, though. At least, a little. The idea of changing gears occurred to me almost daily but I could see the end by staying the course. Work, save, invest... It worked as designed.

Now that I'm clear of a career, I have lots of opportunities to make money. I'm not sure I made the correct choice, although it was the right choice at the time. I weighed that decision like a Coke dealer dividing product with Tony Montana holding a gun to my head.

Life is a problem with many solutions. Whatever path you chose, there is likely a way to make it enjoyable.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Best answer, right there!

Everybody should define freedom for themselves, and then figure out a way to get there. Freedom does not have to be about money unless you make it so. It IS about making choices, though. Sometimes seemingly difficult choices. But there's one over-arching grand perspective to help you in your decision-making: you get one shot at life and it's a fragile shot at that.
