Hey guys Im a 20 year old from south dakota who has an odd hobby for investing the small amount of money I have accumulated throughout my life. I found this site and have followed Tiptop for a while although I haven't taken his advice on any trades thus far (unfortunately). Look forward to discussing stocks with you all.

Great to be starting young. I'm 59, retired. I was taught in late 20's to invest auto. each month into low cost index funds. Rec. Fidelity and or Vanguard. Total Stk. MKT INDEX for 85-90% of US holdings. Internat. Index fund 10-15% of total portfolio. Reinvesting dividends and cap. gains back into funds. Free advice from Fidel. Or Vang. Near retirement, 10-7 years out put move to more balanced portfolio. I use Vanguard Balanced funds, Vbiax, Vtmfx, for approx. 45-50 % of total portfolio now. reinvest. Div. back into funds. And Vtclx for approx. 50% of total for growth, again reinvest. Div. And cap. Gains back into fund. Take care.
