Actually I might not need an alarm clock, I forgot that 1PM Eastern is 8 am here rather than 7am in winter
just stumbled across this...looks like i am way off on the "worst december on record" (at least for the dj30) i think this record is safe unless things just completely meltdown and we don't get the santa rally
Haha but will still be interesting to see if we will have the second worst December ever. Gonna be a close call Can't really remember but I guess we rallied a little bit in December 2008 before selling continued in January 2009

I don't. I've opted to start looking at this market as part of multi-year charts. On the two year daily chart, the next biggest chunk of volume-by-price is in the 2350-2450 range. So I'm waiting to see if we get some stability as we approach 2450. If that doesn't hold, it's off to the 3-year chart and a heart-wrenching 2000-2200 support (by volume) area. Something else to note: VIX is steadily rising and has room to grow.
Killing me to watch this flush. I thought we would get a retest on broken support and it just ran away from me.

yeah looks like it's been flirting in and out of bear today meanwhile, don't look now but the spx and dj30 just about 4% and 5% away respectively 2,352.73 is the exact -20% bear level on the spx
that's a pretty amazing stat right there how's this for another crazy stat, but if the year were to end right here, this month of december would be the worst month in 2018. never has the month of december been the "worst month of a full year" for the spx in history. it could happen this year. also of note is that yesterday the SPX closed at a new calendar year closing low in the month of decemeber for the first time since 2000. before that? 1987.
