    2022-10-18 09:00 ET - News Release

VANCOUVER, BC, Oct. 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Deep-South Resources Inc. ("Deep-South" or the Company) (TSXV: DSM) provides projects update on the exploration programs on the exploration licences in Zambia. On July 6, 2022, Deep-South announced the closing of an option agreement to acquire up to an 80% undivided interest in three copper Large Scale Exploration Licences (the "Licences") in the center of the Zambian Copper belt, one of the most prolific copper belts in the world. (See the press release here: https://www.deepsouthresources.com/investors/news-releases/deep-south-to-acquire-up-to-80-of-three-copper-exploration-licences-in-the-heart-of-the-zambia-copper-belt-2/0)

    Recent Highlights:

    • Environmental projects Briefs filed and awaiting approvals
    • 3,627 geochemical soil samples planned
    Update on the projects:

Deep-South has filed with the Zambia Environmental Management Agency ("ZEMA") Project Environmental Briefs ("EPB") for each licences on July 21, 2022. We are awaiting the approval of ZEMA in order to start sampling programs on the licences.

A sampling contractor will be appointed by October 18, 2022 and will be in a position to start the work program upon approval by ZEMA

    The program:

The program consists of geochemical soil sampling on each licence with the aim to identify anomalies and define drilling targets.

    Luanshya WestProject (licence 23246):

The licence is situated in the center of the Zambian Copper belt and covers 5,423.26 hectares (54.24 Sq. Km). The project prospectivity is based on the location of the subject property over the unconformable contact zone between basement granites and Lower Roan Group sediments where most copper belt mines in both Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (the "DRC") are located.

Some 850 soil samples and some geophysical data were collected over the subject property by Teal (a subsidiary of African Rainbow Minerals Ltd) between 2007 and 2009. Those have enabled to identify at least four large anomalies.

The program consist of 820 soil samples collected in an identical manner to the original Teal's sampling program. The sampling grid will be 500 x 100 metres. The program will be completed in about 30 days.

The project area is close to established copper / cobalt mines with Chibuluma mine some 35Km to the north-east, Chambishi mine 41Km north-northeast, N'changa mine 53Km north-northwest and Luanshya mine some 40Km east-southeast from the centre of the project area.

A National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects ("43-101") compliant technical qualifying report is available on SEDAR at www.sedar.com under Deep-South's profile or on the Company's web site: www.deepsouthresources.com

    Chililabombwe Project (licence 23247):

The licence is situated in the north of the Zambia Copper belt near the DRC border. The Large Exploration Licence covers 2,200 hectares (22.5 Sq, Km). The project prospectivity is based on the location of the subject property over the unconformable contact zone between basement granites and Lower Roan Group sediments where most copper belt mines in both Zambia and the DRC are located.

The program consist of 132 soil samples on a grid of 500m by 100m. It has been designed to search for copper anomalies using a soil-geochemistry survey, particularly termite mounds sampling will be employed on this grid.

Mpongwe Project (licence 23248). The licence is situated in the center of the Zambian Copper belt. The Large Exploration Licence covers 67,500 hectares (675 Sq. Km). The project prospectivity is based on the location of the subject property over the unconformable contact zone between basement granites and Lower Roan Group sediments where most copper belt mines in both Zambia and the DRC are located.

The program consist of 2,675 soil samples on a grid of 500m by 100m. It has been designed to search for copper anomalies using a soil-geochemistry survey.

No Mineral Resources have been estimated on these projects as they have not demonstrated economic viability at this stage. The historical geophysical survey and sampling results demonstrate potential to classify the Luanshya West project as one of merit but are considered too speculative geologically to complete a NI 43-101 compliant resource estimation at this time and it is uncertain that those historic results will be converted into minerals resources.

Deep-South diversifying to meet copper demand

With three large new exploration licenses in the heart of the Zambian Copperbelt, the company is ready for the future

With the escalating demand for copper, all eyes are on copper-rich jurisdictions to help fill the gap between supply and demand. Deep-South Resources is a Vancouver-based mineral exploration and development company specializing in copper properties in mining-friendly jurisdictions around the world. Since 2018, the team has been focusing its acquisition efforts in the central and southern areas of Africa.

In July 2022, the company made one of its most significant moves to date, acquiring three large scale exploration licenses in the heart of the Zambian Copperbelt, considered to be one of the most prolific copper belts in the world. This diversifies a portfolio that includes the large Haib Copper deposit in Namibia, the country’s Ministry of Mines has refused to renew the license. The High Court of Namibia has granted an injunction over the license and is currently reviewing the decision of the Minister. Deep-South holds 100% of the Haib project, as of May 2017.

“Namibia was just the first step. Then we began looking to other countries, including Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa,” says Pierre Léveillé, president, CEO and director.

The copper market is poised for exponential growth in the decades to come. It has been identified as a key resource for a wide range of green initiatives globally, including green energy, electrification on transport, infrastructure programs, 5G implementation, communication, data storage, internet, and artificial intelligence. At the same time, resources are in short supply and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.

“All eyes are on copper” says Léveillé. “In fact, copper has been targeted as the number one commodity for the next 30 to 50 years. Goldman Sachs has predicted a deficit of 748,000 tonnes of refined copper for 2022, and price increases to US$13,000 per tonne by mid-2023.”

Deep-South’s Zambia licenses include Chililabombwe, Luanshya West, and Mpongwe. “Chililabombwe and Luanshya West are very near large producing mines and the sites show the exact same geology,” says Léveillé. Neighbouring large copper mining operations include Barrick, First Quantum, Rio Tinto, Glencore, Vendanta, and Sino Metals. Collectively, they produce 478,000 tonnes of copper per year, which represents 60% of the total copper production in Zambia.

Mpongwe is a previously unexplored 340 sq. km. area further south from producing mines, he adds. “It also shares the same geology. Because of its size, we see great potential.”

Combined, the Zambia licences cover 752 sq. km. within the Copperbelt, which is home to the world’s largest sediment-hosted stratiform copper province and includes at least 14 giant deposits.

“The goal of the Zambian president is to raise production on the part of 14 large mines from the current rate of 800,000 tonnes per year, to three million tonnes per year within the next five to 10 years,” says Léveillé. “That will bring a lot of activity and support for exploration.”

By way of comparison, the Haib Copper project covers 370 sq. km. within a massive copper porphyry deposit indicating substantial exploration upside. “In terms of production, Haib would be a fraction of what could be produced in Zambia,” he says.

Deep-South has filed an environmental project brief with Zambia’s environment ministry for authorization to start exploration. The surface rights have been negotiated with local chiefs and farmers in the area.

“Once we get authorization, we can immediately start a sampling program on the three Zambia licences,” says Léveillé. “We hope to start the sampling program in October, which will take 60 to 70 days, with results expected by the end of December or early January 2023. Then we can define our drilling target and start sometime after March.”

He is optimistic that the Court decision about the license renewal in Namibia will be positive. “The final court hearing went very well and the the judge will render his written verdict on November 18t, 2022. With a positive verdict, we plan to resume drilling around April 2023. If we can start then, we should have a feasibility study by mid-2025.”

In the meantime, Deep-South is working on expanding its reach in Zambia even further, he adds. “By the end of the year we might have one additional large project which will complete our portfolio for the next couple of years.”

The Deep-South team has a wealth of experience in exploration and discovery in Africa. Deep South chief operating officer Jean-Luc Roy, for example, has been involved in projects in central and west Africa for more than 30 years, and members of our technical team are from the local mining community. “We have all the experience needed to develop projects in Africa,” says Léveillé. “As seasoned copper exploration specialists, we can get a lot of added value in the exploration phases and bring in joint venture partners.”

The Zambia projects has placed the company back on track after the delays in Namibia, he adds. “By diversifying in other regions, we have all the ingredients in place for success.”

ORIGINAL: DEEP-SOUTH STARTS SOIL SAMPLING ON THE ZAMBIAN PROJECTS

    2022-11-09 09:00 ET - News Release

VANCOUVER, BC, Nov. 9, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Deep-South Resources Inc. ("Deep-South" or the Company) (TSX-V: DSM) announces that the Environmental Project Briefs ("EPB") submitted to the Zambia Environmental Management Agency ("ZEMA") have been approved. The team started mobilizing on Tuesday November 8 and will start the soil sampling program on the three licences.

    The program:

The program consists of geochemical soil sampling on each licence with the aim of identify anomalies and defining drilling targets.

    Luanshya West Project (licence 23246):

The licence is situated in the center of the Zambian Copper belt and covers 5,423.26 hectares (54.24 Sq. Km). The project prospectivity is based on the location of the property over the unconformable contact between the basement granites and the Lower Roan Group sediments where most copper belt mines in both Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (the "DRC") are located.

Historically, some 850 soil samples and geophysical data were collected over the property by Teal (a subsidiary of African Rainbow Minerals Ltd) between 2007 and 2009. This data has enabled DSM to identify at least four large anomalies. The goal of the sampling program is to generate new geochemical data (verify the old data) and to delineate drilling targets over the anomalies identified.

The program consists of 820 soil samples collected in an identical manner to the original Teal sampling program. The sampling grid will be 500 x 100 metres, duplicating the old grid with the addition of some extra samples in areas not previously sampled (holes in the grid).

The project prospectivity is based on the location of the property over the unconformable contact zone between the basement granites and the Lower Roan Group sediments where most copper belt mines in both Zambia and the DRC are located.

The program consists of 132 soil samples on a grid of 500m by 100m. The soil-geochemistry survey should locate any copper anomalies within the area. In this particular area, due to their abundance, termite mounds will be sampled rather than digging sample holes. This is because termites bring material to the surface from considerable depth and therefore generate a deeper sampling profile.

Mpongwe Project (licence 23248). This licence is situated in the center of the Zambian Copper belt. The Large Exploration Licence covers 67,500 hectares (675 Sq. Km). The project is considered prospective as it is again located over the unconformable contact zone between basement granites and the Lower Roan Group sediments where most copper belt mines in both Zambia and the DRC are located.

The program consists of 2,675 soil samples on a grid of 500m by 100m. It has been designed to search for copper anomalies using a soil-geochemistry survey.

Deep-South Resources Inc. (TSX-V: DSM; Frankfurt: DSD; WKN: A2DGWF; ISIN CA24378W1032) is a Canadian exploration company focused on the exploration and development of high-quality mineral properties in Africa. Deep South Resources is all about copper:
According to forecasts, the base metal will experience increasing demand in the future due to technological advances (especially in the areas of e-mobility and energy storage) and at the same time a widening supply gap, accompanied by a corresponding increase in value.

The main project "Haib" came to a temporary standstill in the summer of 2021 because a licensing issue required legal clarification. A ruling from the Supreme Court in Namibia is expected in November 2022. The current PEA study certifies the project's solid economic viability, and a feasibility study has already been initiated.

Additional copper projects in Zambia are currently being explored.

The jusge is reading the newspaper and found out about the scam at the Ministry of Mines.
Will the Minister try to save face prior judgement day ????
Regardless of that Judgement from the Court have a high probability (99%) to be in favor of DSM.

Lithium group 'hijacked' copper mining licence

The licence in question belonged to Haib Minerals (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Canadian-listed company Deep-South Resources Inc, which claims to have spent around 17 years prospecting for copper near Noordoewer in the Kharas region.

However, the Ministry of Mines and Energy stripped them of the mining rights and attempted to shifted the exploration licence (EPL) to Orange River Mining – a company belonging to mining speculator Peter Shifwaku.

Shifwaku's cousin is Mu-yamba, who was Alweendo's technical assistant
