Highlights: HUGE consumer sentiment drop Taliban-Afghanistan War CPI and unemployment rate “Stocks and stones may light my bons” – Me Hey lazy stoners, we meet again. I re-rolled all the highlights of last week on the stock market as always. Last week still seems pretty steady and recovering faster than my hangover, despite the surging delta variant. It’s been a peaceful week and I expect the market to still go well. However, there’re a few signs worth keeping an eye on. Consumer sentiment drops to the lowest reading since 2011 Huge drops like this have happened only six times over the past 50 years.Unfortunately, the rising concerns of the delta variant created another drop. However, as the vaccine is widely available and people are starting to get used to wearing masks, I personally think it’s not as bad as it looks. What do you guys think of it? Is it a sign of incoming correction? Will the Taliban-Afghanistan war impact the market? Based on past experience, investors tend to buy defense stocks after incidents like this happen. You may consider buying defense stocks as a way of helping out our homeland. In my opinion, I don't think it will make a difference. Unemployment rate and CPI (Consumer Price Index) Unemployment report had three straight drops in filings. The recovery of the labor market continues. As investors are getting more cautious , some tiny bad news can shake the market easily. I expect the upcoming market to go up slowly and drop hard if any bad news comes up.
