How's Apple going to make money of Pokemon? By allowing the app to their devices? Well that's not going to bring any major profits. To me AAPL looks really boring atm. Not saying I'm short or anything, but I'm actually considering to sell it and put my money to better use.
$99.50-$100 is key. Has room to 103/104 above ahead of earnings on 07/28. If fails, $100 good spot for puts
I imagine that Apple gets a cut off of every in-game purchase. Considering how popular the game is I can see them earning some solid cash.
Agreed. I'm glad about where they're going. Quite a predictable stock, yet having enough room for a volatility. Nice
So much for getting some below $90, its getting further and further away. My wife just got an iphone 6, its an impressive piece of technology and a huge upgrade from the iphone 4 she had.
Is it worth it? My wife a few days ago was telling me that her next laptop will be an apple. Asked why, she replied "speed". Other day at a retail store I compared tech carachteristics between two similar models, a Lenovo and an Apple. Processor, GRAM, both w/ SSD, 13" screen, both similar. Only price quite diferente, Lenovo around 800€, Apple 1200€ level. I never had one Apple, so I was wandering myself "are they so diferente, in performance terms"?
You are overpaying big time for an Apple laptop. If its the OS and the brand she likes, then you pay the premium prices. If its just performance, there are plenty of Chromebooks and other laptops that will give better speed at a lower price.
Hell, you can order a custom built laptop (or build it yourself) for cheaper and it won't come with all the shit that some of those notepads will come with.
I have a Chromebook that I travel with. It is lighting fast. It boots up in about 7 seconds. The only downside is it doesn't use Java so there are some applications that can't be used.
I used to have a MacBook Pro once about 5 years ago. Never going back there though. The OS is superior to Windows imo, which is a great merit of their laptops, materials are top notch but it's just not worth the price difference... Mind that I've been using iPhones for the last 7 or so years and don't have any plans on moving to Android
I posted a breakdown of MSFT's revenue sources in this post http://stockaholics.net/threads/msft-microsoft-corp.28/page-2#post-16821 so thought I'd stick one for AAPL in this thread. It points out it is not an apple to apple comparison (pun intended) that one might think. While both are large companies with a main stream OS, they get their revenue in quite different ways. If you compare the two in terms of phone sales, bad phone sales will have a much higher impact on AAPL's overall revenue then it would MSFT.
The Trefis price is their opinion on the value of the stock vs what it is actually selling for. It is not intended as a target price.
Looking for $102ish on this run But from what Ive seen on iphone 7 leaks is that its not going to be anything special... so not holding my breath for amazing upgrade cycles here.
You've raised an interesting question. I've never owned an AAPL product, however right now I'm considering to upgrade my smartphone. I have two options: either Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro or some second-hand iPhone for the same price of $200. What are the benefits of buying an old Apple device other than the brand? Sorry for off-top
I would like to see a positive effect in apple price with Pokemon Go. Could end the stagnation & see longed awaited resurgence in stock.
