Early morning update: AMD is up in pre-market on 19.6k (I consider low) as the markets look to have another down opening and don't let pre-market give you a head fake. It may be able to battle to up more with the market pressure and I still think we will $5 in the short term and $6 in the near term and so forth. If you not in yet and AMD and starts going up I suggest to wait until you see what the support in Level two is before making the plunge. Yesterday the L2 support was at 4.36 and I may give a update later on today if I don't have to hit the road again. If AMD or any stock is going down from pressure from the shorts, it is easy for support to be broken but not so much when it is going up.
And tumble the markets did, now support has been broken as the shorts take advantage of the meltdown and apply pressure. This why I suggest to buy in tiers as you never know what the next day will bring
Support has moved up to 4.38 and has been trading between 4.38 and 4.41 even when the markets were worse than they are now. I will retract a earlier statement about the shorts. I think the volume would be higher if the shorts were pushing down. I think it is the institutions keeping it toll not too move out of their trading range. Either way if AMD can hold like this in today's melt down it should bet a little pop when we have a relief rally or what have you
Microsoft reveals Project Scorpio, the Xbox One's powerful, 4K-ready successor powered by AMD The rumors were true. “No boundaries” is the tagline Microsoft keeps touting for Project Scorpio, a hardware refresh/upgrade for the Xbox One announced during its E3 press conference (and fulfilling six months or so of rumors and leaks). But don’t expect to hear much more about it until next year—the console’s not coming until Holiday 2017, and we didn’t even get a good look at it yet. I was at a disadvantage today mostly on my Cell with streaming quotes. AMD was first down with the markets up, then goes positive as the markets starts to rally harder, then when the market tanks, it holds a small amount of the gain on low volume. The bullish triangle is still tact but needs more volume for a break out. For the last 11 trading sessions the closes have been inside the triangle. Accumulation again? I think so.
This may be the prelude to the break-out we have been waiting for. AMD is up in pre-market on 231K. It looks like another down open for the markets, we'll see if AMD can power through it. AMD to rise 36 percent on VR gaming: Analyst Shares of Advanced Micro Devices will rally 36 percent in the next year due to better chips and new virtual reality gaming upgrades, according to Canaccord Genuity. "We remain impressed with the new management team and our estimates that assume only modest market share recovery in core markets should yield material upside to consensus," Canaccord Genuity's Matthew Ramsay wrote in a note to clients Thursday. "AMD is set up ... to benefit for upcoming 4K/VR-related gaming console refreshes at a
I'm currently up over 10% in AMD and considering selling my position and re-entering at a pull-back. Thoughts?
I'm just worried that on a pull-back I may not meet the entry I desire and then end up missing the rest of this ride up to $5.
$5 is a good place to take some profits but the real ride is to $6 my near term target Check out the early volume
A little retraction on my last post. My $6 price target is not a near term but short term. Once AMD breaks 5 and holds for awhile it will bring in new institutions that only buy stocks that are over $5. From there it could be a short trip to $6. Right now the 4.71 resistance needs to be broke which is the 52 week high
Did you guys see new RX 480 specs? This thing costs like 200 bucks, yet beats NVidia's GTX 980 in perfomance (which costs $350~). That sounds like an awesome deal.
Yes the specs are good on all the Polaris related cards. The ZEN CPU is now being tested by partner companies and could add to the cause. I am sure we will see some sort of pull back either tomorrow or early next week but as AMD closed on the HOD on strong volume it may be ready to continue the run tomorrow if market conditions are right. The bullish triangle has broke to the upside and AMD is in break-out mode. I just love when a plan comes together.
