AMD priming up again. A bounce off the 50-day or the lower trend-line could be good for another swing.
I averaged up and bought just a little more at $26.28 today. Probably not very smart to be buying during the new trade war, but we will see. For the shares I currently have, average price is now $25.63. I have been in since the low 4's though, but have also been in and out 10's of times.
Two weeks later, it's still true lol. This can be a hard stock to get into for some people because it moves 4% a day. But now is a good time to get in on an uptrend....except the larger market seems a bit cloudy. SMH is testing the 200 ma again. If the uptrend fails for now, it can start another one later.
The uncertainty around Huawei is sending shockwaves throughout the sector, but AMD has held up admirably. You may be right about getting in on the next leg up...AMD currently forming a symmetrical triangle on top of the uptrend, which usually portends continuation.
The new chips look awesome so far. Will wait for some real world testing, but if they perform as promised, I think Ill be building an AMD rig next.

Same, he inspired me. This has been the very large bulk of my gains since I started trading, and it's because he brought it to my attention. I didn't get in as early as him (somewhere in the 2's), but he convinced me to get in when it was in the $4's per share. Currently almost at $30. I need to start phasing some out because my position is - as usual - much too large.
Just dumped 2/3rds of my position at $29.35 leaving me with a position that is still larger than a normal trade of mine. Was up about 14% on the current average price at the time of sale.
HOD got up to $29.62, so I missed a little value, but it's sitting in the 27's now... so I sold at the right time (at least short-term). Again, I still have a decent position. A further dip and I might just buy it right back.
Agreed on resistance. I will continue to sell the excess shares of AMD I buy at the dips when it gets close to $30, but am still holding a good position for whenever it does break through $30.
Shouldn't have sold some of my position in the 29's I guess.... oh well. At least I'm still holding a good size position.
