As usual, one of my most predictable stocks I've ever traded just because I've been following it for so long. Currently up over 15% and coming close to my target of ~21% on this one. If I can get another 1-3% before the weekend I may just close it early for fear of weekend volatility from the president's twitter account.
Over $40. Did anyone buy in the bleakest moments of 2015-16? It's up about 20X from there. What a turnaround.
Wishing that Rich (Tiptopptrader) could see that AMD stock hits all time high today. I sold half of my shares and will just ride with the "house money".
I sold my shares today too. Only had it from $39.xx to $49 but that's about 25% in 21 days. Daily/Weekly/Monthly RSI all at 80, no shame in selling there. TTT always talked about selling at the top of the bands. And looking back it doesn't stay at 80 for long when an ER is coming.
Just creating a thread for one of my holdings, for people to discuss AMD. I was kind of surprised that there wasn't a thread already created for AMD.
Guessing someone moved this here. We've had tons of discussion on AMD. People in this site have been in it since it was in the 2's.
Chart Sell Signal! Advanced Micro Devices $AMD Shares of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) have surged higher in the last month, nearing the all-time high from February 2020. However, there is major technical stock chart sell signal on the stock. The technical term is a double top and will represent major resistance on Advanced Micro Devices. As a swing trader, I am looking to short it at $59-$60. Considering the last earnings report was subpar for the stock, and that was pre Covid-19, there should be significant downside in the coming weeks. The one saving grace that investors are clinging to, is that with everyone being home, people are buying computers. Considering 22 million people have lost jobs in the last month, I think that may be somewhat optimistic. Based on pure technicals, the chart sell signal tells us Advanced Micro Devices is likely to drop back to the $51.50 level. This offers an over 10% swing trade profit trade in maybe a couple weeks of hold time. This is a no brainer for hardcore chart technicians. I'm one of the people who bought at 2 bucks. Unfortunately, I sold long ago. Still, I enjoy seeing this company do well.
I bought at $4 as well. Held that until $30's. Was in and out with extra shares very often. I also did not get the full ride up.
AMD is not going bankrupt. Neither is Intel or Applied Material. Good companies. In 10 years, you will think of these as solid. In 10 days, you could jump out a window.
I was in and out with the AMD calls back in mid-2016 ever since I followed Rich's thread. I finally bought my first batch of shares around $5ish, day-traded for a while until I finally decided to hold the shares from $10 till now.
