A VERY large portion of the PC gaming community is excited to support AMD on both Ryzen and Vega because they want to have competition in the market again which is good for consumers and even more emphatically because they are sick of Intel and Nvidia taking advantage of their excessive market shares. A common sentiment used to be "Intel and Nvidia are better but I'll consider AMD if their price gets low enough as a budget option ... but if money is no concern then I will go with the former two." Now the sentiment has changed to one where buyers will support AMD even if there offerings are similarly priced simply out of principle. AMD is doing a great job of capturing these feelings in their marketing:



If AMD's offerings are better values to boot, which I certainly think they will be, sales will be through the roof!

9.90 is a critical fib level as well. Long waits at both 9.83 and 9.90 for these reasons.

Mainly the theory that the rumored partnership between AMD and Intel could be finalized and announced by both sides.. They needed the extra time to finalize etc

 

I may have been too conservative on my Point and Figure count which gave an objective of 9.25, as 8.75 looks to be in reach.

Yes the shorts created their own bear trap yesterday when they pushed the price to deep support.AMD looks more promising today with the markets down, semi's down, except for NVDA.

 

It'd be better if it would just head down and tag the 9.25 price objective. Hanging out around 10 with resistance just above tells me its going to build more cause, a stepping stone distribution trading range, for a bigger drop just in time for the ER.
