AMZN breaking up? The day that I see that happening.. Does anybody think there could ever be a forced break up on the company?
Don't see it happening and if it happens at all probably still at least a few years away I would think
They thinking of it like the telecoms? Ma Bell? Modern day twist on that whole story, give it a few years and they all consolidate back into the oligopoly anyway.
Amazon is removing Just Walk Out technology from its Fresh grocery stores in the US "Just over half of Amazon Fresh stores are equipped with Just Walk Out. The technology allows customers to skip checkout altogether by scanning a QR code when they enter the store. Though it seemed completely automated, Just Walk Out relied on more than 1,000 people in India watching and labeling videos to ensure accurate checkouts. The cashiers were simply moved off-site, and they watched you as you shopped." So, AI = Anonymous Indian. When will Tesla pick up on this, having an A.I. guy actually operate the steering wheel remotely? "Just Walk Out technology will continue to be offered in Amazon Go stores and some smaller Amazon Fresh stores in the U.K., the company said. It will also continue offering the technology to third-party retailers." -- https://abcnews.go.com/Business/wir...-technology-fresh-grocery-stores-us-108755691 Hey, if third-parties are going to pay for it, Amazon will keep getting the cheapest A.Is to work on it. Amazon will continue to try to develop this tech, but it is not looking good. For every 100 transactions, Amazon had hoped that only 5 would need to be monitored by a human, and the pattern-matching computer would catch on. But the reality is that 50% need to be monitored, and have been monitored for years with the computer being unable to get it down.
