I am starting this journal to show that no matter how small your account (you will need margin though) you can create "passive" income. I trade with a Robinhood instant account (requires at least $2K) and a starting amount of $3K. I will document and try and provide real time trades that I am making in my account.
Good luck with your investments and your thread. I got couple questions. For your trades, do you have any set rules, targets etc.? Also, do you use charts, fundamentals, your gut, rumors (I used all of them at some point)? You might find it beneficial for your future reference to see what works and what does not. I did not know Robinhood offered penny stocks and apparently they do.
Thanks leonx81 & DoveJohns @DoveJohns I have a screen built to look for high/low variance over the last 100 days - dollar volume over the last 20 days and some Moving Averages. No fundamentals - basically looking for beaten down stocks that should have nowhere to go but up. Obviously with the low # of shares this can only be done on no commission trading platforms. Also, Robinhood supports all stocks as long as they are not OTCBB - my understanding.
Also, another point of the strategy is to hold a basket of these beaten down stocks and see how they do. Drop the losers and let the winners run - rebalance. wash, rinse and repeat to profit.
2 more limits hit right before close: Bought Long - PVCT 55shares @ .29 Bought Long - FES 117shares @ .13
Alright summary of today 8/1/2016 - implementation of my Robinhood trading strategy had me open 11 positions for a total of $218.96. Today's losses totaled $.20 cents. This strategy places small bets on beaten down stocks - drop the losers and lets the winners run for a little. Backtesting this strategy had a total drawdown of only 5-6% from 2002.
sorry all, I was on vacation since Wednesday. does anyone know how to export history from robinhood? I'm up 15.23 from last week and want to show all my trades - I currently have open 34 positions.
