I realize I am somewhat uneducated in bit coin as an investment but my cursory look gives me pause to think there is a huge bubble sitting on this that will cause blood in the street when it pops. Any time a trust fund is selling at a 75% premium to NAV that is dangerous. If you look at the links below and do not understand this "fork" and do not understand the reason's for the huge premium then I would think you would not want to be invested in bitcoin. A lot of my friends are fond of investing in bitcoin recently. But I still think that it's unstable and pretty risky thing.
You're correct, it's extremely volatile. You can gain or lose a substantial percentage of your money in just hours
Bitcoin futures on the way https://seekingalpha.com/pr/16985390-cme-group-announces-launch-bitcoin-futures CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced it intends to launch bitcoin futures in the fourth quarter of 2017, pending all relevant regulatory review periods. The new contract will be cash-settled, based on the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate (BRR) which serves as a once-a-day reference rate of the U.S. dollar price of bitcoin. Bitcoin futures will be listed on and subject to the rules of CME.
Moreover, it's risky if you don't know enough about it. I think that now there is still no man who fully understands the prospects of the bitcoin and where it could turn out.
BTC is going to grow! Why do I think so, because I see more and more people investing cryptocurrency! Months before I bought BTC and today I have 40% plus!
The key concept that everyone needs to appreciate is that the blockchain technology is revolutionary, not a single cryptocurrency. The uncertainty is in which cryptocurrencies will survive. 98% of cryptocurrencies are "shitcoins" and are not even worth considering unless you find it fun to invest highly volatile assets with a long term value of zero.
Dear Readers, I am sure you have all been made aware of Bitcoin, the decentralized Cryptocurrency that has made news recently about the huge surge in price, with each 1 Bitcoin being worth around $7-8000 As the charts show, each individual bitcoin was worth cents when it was originally brought out. so if we had spent a mere 100 dollars on bitcoins we would all be paper millionaires today! But is it all speculation, or does this make the idea of an online currency mark the future of money? I am personally tempted to invest my money in the alternative currencies such as Aether, as who knows what a couple of hundred dollars will yield in 5 years? its worth a shot! yours Ben
haha, too low! at this rate we'll reach that by the end of the month week printing new highs here above 16,000 as of this writing ... absolutely ballistic tulip mania gone wild once again lol
I read the r/bitcoin sub regularly, there is not a speck of doubt or fear there. Everybody keeps encouraging each other to keep buying and holding.
I even saw chatter on facebook about it..I think the top is very near when it's mentioned there....lol
The wake up call arrives when the price starts falling fast and everybody realizes that they can't sell because their shady exchange can not handle the traffic and has no oversight to make sure clients are able to trade.
hah! here's what i get when try to hit up the r/bitcoin sub (r/stockmarket seems to be working fine though) dang lol
