After hours earnings look good, and futures making new high. Market is overbought but keeps going higher, as VIX is still high. We just shrugged off that MSFT news today lol.
Top of the morning Stockaholics! Happy Friday to all! And welcome to the final trading day of the week and a fresh start! Here is a quick check on those futures as we are over 3 hours from the cash market open. GLTA on this Friday, June the 3rd, 2022.
Consolidating today, things are very overbought...but looking higher. SPY went +50 points in March (410 to 460), this bounce from 380 can get to 430. Targeting the 200 sma still.
Hmm I noticed my trading fees on Interactive Brokers were higher. This might explain it. https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2022-60
Good economic news is bad news for the market today, the FED definitely not pausing the rate hikes anytime soon

I am selling all my positions at some point this coming week. Maybe Monday. I do not like the forecast for the next few months. I think there will be an even better buy opportunity in the future.

The market has lost a lot of its gains from early morning but at least we didn't turn red at the close The CPI on Friday will show whether inflation has really peaked
I have seemed to have found the best exit-time, it has worked out for me soooo many times in the last 3-4 months. I have been waiting and selling during that 2nd-3rd hour of the market being open, On days that appear to be heading Up. (I brought this up here a couple months ago) Sold all my positions today but somehow got lured into AMZN with the split today. Will likely cash that out though, I regretted buying it almost immediately. I do NOT like Amazon over 1,800. Their products are garbage and no amount of fantastic service can make up for that fact. As people are owning and using Amazon products that they have accumulated over the last several years, I am sure they are coming to the same conclusion that myself and many others have drawn. The convenience and the cheaper prices are not worth what you lose in quality. Plus if youre anything like me, as times have gotten tighter, I now consider WHO I give my money to. I have never really cared too much about the companies I give my money to, as long as I am getting a good product. That is not the case, at least for me, any more. And I have found that my reactions tend to be in-line with majority of consumers.
I think my play for tomorrow is to unload AMZN and grab some stocks about to go Ex-Dividend. This might be a summer of dividend shopping. Looking at: BBY- Best Buy - June 13th (Mon.) SAR- Saratoga Investments- June 13th (Mon.) DPZ- Dominoes Pizza - June 14th GILD- Gilead Sciences- June 14th WOR- Worthington Industries- June 14th XEL- Xcel Energy- June 14th Need to look at some more graphs and do some more research but SAR seems like a good, safe bet. I also really like WOR.

Target Stock Tumbles On Plan To Cut Prices, Move Excess Inventory - TheStreet Bad news for Target but the consumers probably will be happy if they really will see lower prices for some items
ATH for DXJ today while the Nikkei isn't really close to the ATH at all, the yen weakness helping DXJ. Chinese techs having another good day, have they finally bottomed? They might have more upside than the US stocks here if the tech crackdown is indeed over in China considering how bad those stocks have been beaten down while we kept making ATHs here in the US last year
I used the inverse of my selling strategy and managed to pickup Best Buy when it was down 3.5% on the day. It ended up closing about 1.25% down. I really like my position and will hold at least through Mondays ex-dividend. Hopefully BBY is ready for a breakout, it's at a very interesting place to a newbie like myself.
