He paid for the first date and he asked for his money back (cnbc.com) Well I have split the bill before but definitely wouldn't have asked my money back
NVDA going crazy before earnings Beat and raise is likely, I would be very surprised if they are gonna miss since they didn't warn and I don't think they would have raised the guidance significantly 3 months ago just to miss on earnings this time around. The question is how good the guidance is, if the guidance is just in line or the just barely above expectations then I would think a pullback is very likely although it is hard to bet against a stock with such great momentum and basically the biggest darling on Wall Street right now
I think NVDA saved the market today, it offsets the effects of rising bond yields If bond yields keep rising though then we probably will need NVDA to do really well this Wednesday
Yeah NVDA going up with earnings soon. China is a big concern now. China is facing a "Lehman Moment" that could spark a financial crisis, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Chinese economy is flatlining, youth unemployment is skyrocketing, and $5 trillion in homebuilder debt is at-risk. Now the government is ordering banks to prop up the yuan and stop selling stocks and bank assets to prop up failing markets, while government statistics go dark one by one.
Macy's, Dick's, and Lowe's Sound Alarms on US Shoppers (businessinsider.com) Well the earnings today showed the US consumers might be slowing down although the recent retail sales data suggested the consumer spending remains strong
Yeah, seeing a lot of other tech stocks up +3-5% after hours too, totally carrying the market. Not just AI and semiconductors.
Well the lift from NVDA earnings for the market apparently didn't last too long, Jackson Hole is coming up and I guess the hopes for the FED will cut rates next year are fading a little bit
No it didn't! Reminds me of what SONO did earlier this month. I was short it going into ER, then after hours it went up like +15%...but by next day was down -6% and I was profitable. It is getting a little volatile here. Regression to the mean really keeps you on your toes.
SLV is breaking out. Currently seeing volume +170% above normal. Look at it in terms of Yen, rather than Dollars.

Once Again, the Market Proves: Bad Econ News Can Be Good News for Stocks - RealMoney (thestreet.com) Funny we are back to bad news/not so good news for the economy is good news for the market
The ADP seemed to show big jobs gains in recent months and then the NFP just showed much smaller gains a couple days later, I wonder how the market would react if we see some big ADP number again tomorrow
It is the world's 3rd largest automaker (by market cap), from Vietnam, behind only Tesla and Toyota. Something like 99% of shares are held by one man, and he can't sell for 6 months. edit: his shares are exempt from lockup now.
Small caps are 25% away from ATH; I don't think they'll make it before the recession hits, but we'll see how strong the bulls can be.
Maybe we will hit a new ATH before the recession hit us It would be a pretty big miracle if something doesn't break in the future after all of these hikes but we will see I guess
