I am interested in starting an account to trade stocks, but I am very confused on what being a day trader means, and the minimum account balance needed to do so. I am interested in buying and selling stocks within the same day, but not with a margin account; would that still require me to have a minimum account balance of $25,000? If I do have to have that amount, what is my limit of trades per day/week without becoming a "pattern day-trader"? Thank you in advanced for your response.
