Macau VIP sees 2H improvement: junket association
The VIP gaming market in Macau saw improved performance in the third quarter, a momentum that is likely to be sustained in the fourth quarter. So said Kwok Chi Chung, president of the Association of Gaming and Entertainment Promoters, in comments to GGRAsia. The body represents organisations licensed by the Macau government to organise credit and arrange collection on any player losses generated by high roller play; businesses commonly referred to as junkets.

You make a good point @Lonnie Ray. NFL in Vegas could still be a couple years away and hard to say what viewership will be then by then. I know a lot of the players rubbed people the wrong way when the disrespected our flag and the National Anthem.

I've gotten pretty bored of the NFL lately. Whenever I watch it seems like it's just flags and commercials. Game play is way too slow.

Tougher and swifter than our SEC

Investors Overreact To Crown Casino Employees Arrested In China
Investors overreacted during the Eastern Hemisphere’s trading day to news that 18 employees of Australia’s Crown Resorts had been detained in China on suspicion of promoting gambling. Shares in the Australian company fell 14% on Monday.

That’s not good for Crown (majority owned by James Packer) which is investing A$2 billion (US$1.5 billion) in a new high end resort in Sydney and hoping to cleave the company into domestic and international parts. It is also troubling news for its Australian casino rivals Star Entertainment and SkyCity, as well as casino companies trying to recruit high rollers directly from China. But it’s hardly the end of Asian gambling. It may even be good for Macau.

New AML rules help Macau casinos, junkets: EY
Multinational accounting and audit services firm Ernst and Young LLP, also known as EY, expressed optimism regarding the anti-money laundering rules targeted at Macau casinos and junket operators. The consultancy firm said it believed that the compliance requirements would support the gaming industry’s healthy development in the long term.

Macau October GGR best in nearly two years: govt
Macau’s casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) rose 8.8 percent year-on-year in October, to MOP21.82 billion (US$2.73 billion), said on Tuesday the local regulator, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

The October result was the best month for the city’s casinos since January 2015, when GGR totalled MOP23.84 billion, according to official data.

The result marked only the third time in 29 months that monthly revenue had not contracted, judged year-on-year. The improvement began in August, when monthly casino GGR expanded by 1.1 percent after 26 straight months of decline.

For the 10 months to October 31, Macau’s aggregate casino GGR was MOP184.61 billion, a shrinkage of 5.8 percent from the prior-year period.

“Overall indications, both anecdotal and quantitative, continue to suggest that the Macau market is improving,” said analysts David Katz and Brian Davis of Telsey Advisory Group LLC in a note before the official results for October were announced.

“Recent trends have noted that the two new properties [in the market] are indicating strong volumes and performance,” they added, referring to Wynn Palace and the Parisian Macao, developed respectively by Wynn Macau Ltd and Sands China Ltd.

Macau’s Secretary for Economy and Finance, Lionel Leong Vai Tac, had said on June 8 that the government was maintaining its 2016 forecast for the city’s casino GGR at MOP200 billion.
