I paid $1 for a Coke. What do poor people in 3rd world countries, who live on $1 a day, pay? I get it. Medication isn't a luxury beverage. In all fairness, because the world isn't fair, pricing for market is adjusted to regional economy. I lived in a few border towns. We crossed the border all the time, to exploit their weaker economy for our personal gratification. Beer, tacos, hookers, a Coca Cola - it all cost less when you pay Canadian dollars. Not fair at all that in my neighborhood, a bucket of chicken cost more. But I'm not driving across town, risk getting shot or raped, to get chicken for a few dollars less. If you get sick, travel to a 3rd world country for treatment, so that you can save a couple of hundred per vial. CARES Act pays for anyone uninsured. Those are people not covered by an employee health plan, and they somehow never got under the "Obama Care" umbrella. Not too many out of pocket payments will be made.
As I surf the web and read different articles, it seems like Gilead isn't interested in price gouging. And other companies are upset by that. The precedent is set. Now everyone will expect to pay less for all their drugs.
