YouTube to produce more than 40 original shows YouTube is producing more than 40 original shows and movies in the coming year, and bumping its spending on paid service YouTube Red, it's set to announce as part of NewFronts. “We’re working with YouTube stars and big celebrities that we know have global appeal, advertiser appeal and are largely established on the platform,” YouTube's Susanne Daniels tells Bloomberg. New content will include shows from Ellen DeGeneres and comedians Kevin Hart and Rhett & Link. Johnson & Johnson is sponsoring Best.Cover.Ever, a Ryan Seacrest music competition program. Sounds interesting. Particularly interested in that new Ellen show. Not gonna pay for YouTube Red subscription though.
That's a lot of shows but the question is how good they will be. Doesn't look like a strong enough incentive to pay for Red.
This last week's bounce has been on low volume, and went right through a high volume node (red rectangle) And it's gone right up to the declining tops line. Interested in how they face the EU issue.
