How can an American buy stocks in Canada?

    Many are also listed on the US exchanges.

    I think interactivebrokers allows you to trade on several exchanges if you are qualified.

    I think TD ameritrade also offers both exchanges, altho you may have to open an account in CAD$.... it works that way in CANADA WITH TD if you want to trade US stocks.

    If you have a company in mind, you can always ask from traders or stock experts in Canada in how to go about it. You can always buy stocks but make sure that you are qualify to their requirements and arrangements too.
