A Negative S&P Today, But I, Nevertheless, Beat the S&P Index Today; by a Great Margin too. To Be Precise, I Beat the S&P by 1.16% Today. I Will Gladly Accept that On Any Day During this Volatile Market Period. The Oil and Energy Sector Continues to Look Great for Investing; Even Though we are Paying at the Pump. LoL. SOFI (SoFi Technologies, INC.) and PARA (Paramount Global) Both looked Great Today, and the Past Few Days. I Have Some new Research and Ideas to Post; However, I am still Dragging Tail to Get Back Into the Swing of Things. The Red Days Aren’t Helping. LoL. -IndependentCandy14
I Am Back! I Hope All You Stockaholics are Healthy & Well. I want to get back into posting regularly, as I was doing when I started this Journal in Q2 of 2022. Updates Coming. Thanks for Following Along. -IndependentCandy14
I wanted to Repost this Paragraph I had Written on my First Day Posting on Stockaholics as I will be Referencing it in my Next Post. -IndependentCandy14
As you All Know; We have Been in a Brutal Bear Market. Stocks have hit 52 week Lows, Multi-Year Lows, and Some have even Hit All Time Lows during the Past Year. My Investing Strategy has Changed in the Past Six Months. I will get to that in a bit. But First, What did I Sell Since my Last Time Posting? KSS (Kohl’s Corporation). May 2022. KSS Was a Large, Material Holding of Mine with a SOLID & HEFTY Long Term Capital Gain (Decent Car a few Years Back. LoL). You might recall I posted in the Past about KSS and their Buyout Rumors. The Stock would Surge when News of these Buyouts came out. I Sold at an Average Price in the Mid $40s and boy am I Glad I did. LOL. Currently KSS trades in the Upper $20s. TM (Toyota Motor Corporation). August 2022 TM Was a Very Small, Immaterial Position of mine with a Very Small Long Term Capital Gain (Steak Dinner for the Family). Proceeds from these Two Sales were Immediately Invested, Less Monies Taken Out for Income Taxes (Uncle Sam Always Wants a Piece of the Pie). The Proceeds were Invested into: VTI (Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund): 98% ABNB (Airbnb, INC.) 1% PARA (Paramount Global) 1% Other than the Purchase from the Proceeds of KSS & TM sales, I have only made two Lump Sum Monthly Contributions this year into the markets. One in August and One in September. All of these Monies were Invested into VTI. I have been Hoarding Monies, and I AM NOT FULLY INVESTED AT THIS TIME. I have Funds to deploy, but Just do not feel Comfortable at the Moment. There are a Multitude of Reasons Contributing to this Reasoning. My Monthly Retirement Plan Contributions have Not Stopped. Just My Monthly Deposits into my Taxable Brokerage Accounts have Stopped. Retirement Contributions Happen Like Clockwork, Every Month, and are 100% Invested on the day the Funds are Transferred. Have I Kept on Track of my Goal to Get my Portfolio Balanced to 60% ETF’s and Mutual Funds and 40% Individual Equities? I am Happy to Report that it is a Yes! In about Six Months, I have been able to move the weighting about 5% towards ETF’s and Mutual Funds. Below is my Current Portfolio Weights as of Market Close on Monday, October 31st, 2022. -IndependentCandy14
I Cannot Seem to get the Image to Post. When I Copy and Paste it, It does not show up on the Post. Anywho, My Weights Right Now are 49.66% Individual Equities and 50.34% ETF’s and Mutual Funds. -IndependentCandy14
I Had some Big Material Holdings Report Earnings Today: This Morning: SOFI (SoFi Technologies, INC.) and SPG (Simon Property Group, INC.) Reported their Results. Both Reported Positively and had a Nice Pop. This Afternoon: ABNB (Airbnb, INC.) Reported. ABNB Beat Revenue and EPS estimates for the quarter. Forward Revenue Guidance Came in Weak and the Stock is Under Pressure in the After Market Hours this Evening. Still to Report this Week are: PARA (Paramount Global) and APA (Apache Corporation). PARA Can Swing Anyway, APA Should have an Excellent Report. Regardless of what the Stock Prices do, I will be Holding Both for the Long Term. -IndependentCandy14
I Had a Nice Beat on the S&P Index Today I Beat the Index by 0.81% Today. Notable Movers Today Were: PARA (Paramount Global) +4.64% SOFI (SoFi Technologies, INC.) +5.33% SPG (Simon Property Group, INC.) +4.46% AAPL (Apple, INC.) -1.75% -IndependentCandy14

I was Deep in the Red Yesterday. As to be Expected. I was Beat by the S&P Index Yesterday by 1.20%. Yesterday I sold my entire PLTR position for Tax Loss Harvesting. It will Help Offset my Gains from Earlier in the Year in KSS, and reduce my Tax Bill. I No Longer Felt Comfortable Holding PLTR; I Should of Cut my Losses Sooner. Anywho, The Proceeds from the PLTR Sale were Invested Into VTI (Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund) this Morning at a Price of $186.39 per Share. Slowly, my Portfolio is Getting to the 60% Fund Target. -IndependentCandy14
Not Sure why the Photo Disappeared. *Edit: So the Photo Appears on my Windows Laptop, but not on my Mac or iPad. Weird. All Use Google Chrome. -IndependentCandy14
I Made a Very Small Contribution to my Taxable Brokerage Account this Afternoon. 16.4% of my Contribution Today was Invested into VTI. Purchase Price $186.92 83.6% of my Contribution Today was invested into GOOGL (Alphabet, INC.). Purchase Price $83.62 GOOGL Hit New 52 Week Lows Today, and I was Tempted to Start a Position in it, and I did. I Have Not Determined Yet if GOOGL will Remain a Long Term Hold in my Portfolio Individually, or if I will Sell it for a Swing Trade, if it Bounces in the Next Few Weeks. I own enough of GOOGL and GOOG through my Fund Purchases. Time will Tell. I am Still Hoarding Cash on the Sidelines. Today was my First Taxable Brokerage Contribution Since September 2022. -IndependentCandy14
Earnings Continue to Come in Strong for my Portfolio this Quarter. I had Two Holdings Report Today. APA Corporation The Energy Sector has Been Outperforming this Year and APA Beat Earnings Again. The Stock Price Reflects this Gaining 6.89% Today, and 75.86% YTD. https://investor.apacorp.com/news-r...on-announces-third-quarter-2022-financial-and RCL (Royal Caribbean Cruises, LTD.) RCL Reported a GAAP Profit Today. Q4 Outlook is Weak, but 2023 Outlook is Strong. The Stock Price was Rewarded Today for the Good Report Gaining 8.28% Bringing the YTD loss to -30.08%. https://www.rclinvestor.com/press-releases/release/?id=1624 -IndependentCandy14

Well it Looks Like Mr. Market Gave Up All its Morning Gains. I Made Another Very Small Contribution Today to my Taxable Brokerage Account. Here are the Details of the Contribution: 83% VOO (Vanguard S&P 500 ETF) 3.5% BAC (Bank of America Corporation) 5.5% MS (Morgan Stanley) 2.5% AXP (American Express Company) 5.5% DAL (Delta Airlines, INC.) -IndependentCandy14
The Oil Market Performed Nicely Today. WTI is up 5.08% to $92.65, and Brent is Up 4.23% to $98.67. China's "Covid" Policy Easing, Interest Rates and Recession Talks, and the Russian Oil Ban by the EU are all Contributing Factors. Reminder, "Winter is Coming" and Natural Gas is also on the Rise, Gaining 8.44% Today. -IndependentCandy14
I was in the Green Today, but the S&P Beat me. The S&P Beat me by 0.49%. Election Week is Next Week. Which Way We Go, is Anyone’s Guess; Me Thinks Down and I Hope I’m Wrong. -IndependentCandy14
I was in the Green Yesterday, but I Still Got Beat by the S&P Index. I Got Beat by 0.11% Yesterday. I had only Two Stocks in the Red Yesterday; both in the Travel Sector. ABNB and NCLH; however, the Losses were Nominal. Some Notable Movers Yesterday were: PARA +5.14% LOW +2.42% AMAT +3.64% XOM Hit a New 52 Week High During the Intra Day Hours Yesterday.
