Welcome Miguel! My name is Demetri Nice! I saw that they were playing but did not see the score. I have a small bet on the France/Switzerland game on Monday.
Hello everyone, I'm JJ! I have been interested in trading for the past few years, but I admit I am not very good yet.
Hello everyone, I am a new member here. I am a trader based out of Canada and I have been actively trading the markets since 2015. I rely on technical analysis to time my trades. For the most part, I do swing trading and then there are some days I also use these strategies for day trading. In addition, I also teach technical analysis to students online. If there is anything else you'd like to know please give me a shout. Cheers,

Welcome to Stockaholics, Prince. I've never met someone who HFT for 15 years. You were obviously successful, or you wouldn't have done it for so long. I would enjoy hearing more about that so I hope you will indulge us with some of your history.
Howdy! OK, but you asked. ha ha. Let's start at the beginning. Gasses cooled and then. fast forward....I've always been into stocks and learning about how companies are built and run. My music career was going really really well, and I had some savings ( grew up poor, took me awhile) and decided to jump into the market. 1998. I have always followed along, so I knew all the hype, and irrational exuberance. I couldn't wait. SoI opened a Merrill Lynch acct. was given a broker ( at that time I had no idea that their name was literal). To make a long story really short, he convinced me to go all in on tech. well as You know...shortly after I was up a few thousand and got nervous. Called my broker. He was out of the office. Gal asked if I wanted him to call me? Yes. So, I tell him I think we should take some off the table.....well he sez " how bout you let the big boys play, and you just sit back and let me make you rich. Well funny thing 2 weeks later the market crashed. I lost 90% of my savings. I was ruined. I don't get mad easily. I was hot !! I promised myself, I didn't know how but I told my girlfriend " you mark my words....I'm gonna get every penny of my money back. Bought a new Dell fancy computer, and began studying the business of investing. It took me about 3-4 years and lots of sweat, tears and insomnia, but the end result actually saved my bacon. As a pro musician I had a roadie. She was driving me home when an old woman ran the light and that was the end of my abilities at a high enough level. So I had mucho time to read. I read hours and hours day in and out. I don't watch much tv. I stuffed my head with companies info and pricing...well my education helped me learn how to learn. I started small obviously but by 2006 I was really in deep. Great credit and high limits and zero debt, I kept getting the zero % offer of that era. ( they still show up today. lol. FICO is 820. Anyway, like a desperate maniac I drew all my limits on 6 cards...you'd think that would keep me busy...nope I was really doing ok. So dummy I opened a margin account. 3 times leverage on my total borrowed seed capital. It wasn't long before I was buying trading software and external monitors. I thought I was the wolf of wall st. Well soon was informed of my trade volumes and maxing my margin. Scottrade told me about how I needed to be aware of how much $$ I moved each day as they limit that. who knew. Even if you sold stuff, due to clearing the trades fast enough. So then I was forced to register with the IRS. They have a special designation for Us kind. ha ha, Bad thing is all the line item auditing at years end. My return was about 4in. thick. My last year I turned $72 million. Not that I had millions....that's the total of all my trades that year ha ha. Good thing my girlfriend is a hot secretary. Fast 10 key. She did all the real work. Well, That's the show for tonite. GLTA. caio' prince
Morning all. Phil from AlphaPicks here, we're a team of UK based financial bloggers. We'll be posting our favourite couple of pieces each day for you all on specific stocks for you to have a look at. Thanks
Hi all, I've been coming to this site and reading all the great commentary for a while now. It's good to see different opinions and contrasting ideas on peoples investing strategy and portfolio mix. This seems like a great place to ask questions and offer feedback. I'm far from an expert on investing but I really enjoy it. I've been investing for about 12 years now and have always liked reviewing companies and trying to figure out which stocks can be strong long term investments. I consider myself more of a buy and hold investor than a short term trader. I tend to stick to large cap companies mostly. Looking forward to some great discussion on investing.
Hi. Looking for an active place to post SPX/SPY charts and opinions. Retired Software Engineer with 20+ years experience investing/trading. I write a lot of my own software to find investing/trading vehicles. I use my own flavor of Gann Swing charts and Gann range squares (developed over 25+ years) to build charts. I trade mostly options for ETFs and occasionally a stock that looks ripe. I follow world events in retirement. I am a good amateur landscape and wildlife photographer and understand image processing.
Tom, I have build software to generate charts and text data in Java and Python. If you are interested then let me know. I am also interested in sharing the output from these with the group, but need help finding the best way to do this. Tools to download updated data from FRED and chart most of the output. (FRED - data from the St. Louis Fed.) Tools to parse fundamental data of stocks in the AAII Stock Investor Pro program. Many company, industry, and index text reports generated. Tools to download data from TDAmeritrade for stocks and options. Tools to parse/process this data into reports. Other tools I have forgotten I created years ago.
Hii everyone I am new on stockaholics!! i am a trader and want to gain more information about trading. Hope i will get more knowledge here!! Thanks
Hello everyone. I am still green with trading. Started in late January of 2021. I read investopedia and have been watching video's. First year was good. Last year I was down. This year I have been watching and putting together what I have learned so far. Reading charts looking at volume and watching the news and earning reports of what ever company I invest in. My strategy is short term trades for now till I find a company or ETF that is worth the long-term. For now I'm in commodities. Learning calls and puts this year. Lets see how it goes.
Welcome, Swift. Stockaholics has plenty of people who use plenty of different trading techniques. You may wish to check out the trade journals, also. Please make yourself at home. The people here are friendly so jump into any discussion you find engaging.
