Hey everyone! Glad to be here. So Im 26, I’ve been trading since late April 2020 when I initially invested just $500. When I saw Oil go negative, it gave me the spark I needed to FINALLY get into the market and start learning the basics. Since then, I’ve been looking for a “support group” of like minded people, folks that know a little something about the financial market and that I can learn from. I mainly like to trade options because they look so juicy so often but I’m afraid my strategy isn’t good for the long run, and I’m experiencing lots of insecurities in the market. So basically I’m looking to learn, provide my opinion and eventually teach in the group. I’ll keep looking through the forums content now. Hope to interact through these dope topics we got going here! God bless!bless! .
Hello everyone. I am new to the stock market, but did fiddle withe the stock trainer app for a while to see how it works. I did really well with the trainer app, so 3 weeks ago i put $1,000 into Robinhood app to test the waters, and i am currently up 53%, with a diverse portfolio. I am super addicted now, and just doing more research to see how I can better my game. I live in the Carolinas.
I've traded on and off for the past several years. Just got more serious about it this past year or so. I like trading in tech stocks, but try to branch out as well. Got a little into pharma as of late.
I think we are from the same school of trading....lol...lo a few I got in to come to mind.... Question??? when the stock went down... did you buy more of it..???? to average down your position???? I Did....lol...lol ...The trading school of hard knocks...lol
Hello, I'm new to active investing. I had always had some fascination with stocks. I talked my father into opening a shared broker account back in the late 90's. At the time I was a teen and interest faded a few years later though. Been hoping to find the time to look more into the stock market and with my profession I was able to mid March due to work at home orders. I have had a 401k for a few years but just have a target index fund. Since opening my first brokerage account in mid march I've primarily invested in index funds. Went thru a course on investing basics at Investopedia which was helpful. https://www.investopedia.com/articles/basics/11/3-s-simple-investing.asp I'm enjoying reading the daily stock market thread! -Wiz
Might as well join in on the fun. I've stopped trading for years. Used to do it in undergrad day trading during classes (those were the days I tell ya). Now trying to get back into it and hoping to learn a lot from everyone in here and have some great takeaways.
Michael Ketcherside, New to trading beyond an old 401k which i had to sell following a divorce. On the rebound now after my son introduced me to Robinhood. Trying to learn how to pick stocks for myself and learn a bit about options trading. I recently started a small lawn service business ok n the side of my job which is feeding my ability to invest each month.
Good to meet you, and all is not lost. @Michael Ketcherside First, focus on rebuilding your 401k. It is probably the most important. Second, it is a heck of a time to play on Robinhood during these times. I would be thinking about building solid dividend stocks in your account to self-perpetuate some easy returns. But don't play day trader, you already have bit the bullet.
