I sold part of my position today. Maybe I am wrong but I do not like the reverse stock split.

What about it is particularly unnerving? I know they mentioned this as a possibility at their last Shareholders meeting, and there has been some good news come out in recent days. Do you think this indicates a no go situation on a lead test agreement?

I do not think that is the case. However, I am not sure how the stock will react to the reverse stock split. If they sign the deal with the utitliy soon than the stock price will go up imo. But I do not know when that will happen...

    Dan,

what you thinking now that stock reverse split is done? Wait and see? Also, did Lightbridge issue more shares concurrent with the split? If so, what does that mean in terms of strategy?

    thanks

Difficult to say right now. The market cap looks pretty low. With the right news LTBR can move fast.

At some point they will do further dilution. They did not issue more shares yet. The share price depends imo on the long awaited contract with the utility and when this is finalized (and of course the details of the contract).

I have been speculating for over a year that this will happen rather soon, but it did not...

Bought back into LTBR recently. The current market cap of $13 million is well below their cash of $20.6 million at the end of 3Q.

According to NuScale Power the Ligthbridge technology is the most promising.

Discussion with Jay Surina | NuScale Power, LLC
Ligthbridge Fuel is mentioned around 13.50 min of the interview.

Based on the interview I believe we may learn more in the coming weeks regarding the possible cooperation with US Government subsidiaries. If that works out, the share price will go uphill in my opinion. The current market cap of $13 million is well below their cash of $20.6 million at the end of 3Q. I am confident that this will go up sooner than later...

Furthermore, there are in my opinion two additional catalysts for a possible rising share price (excerpts from the last conference call):

    - "We are also working towards finalizing a definitive agreement with NuScale Power, which we believe will help optimize their advanced nuclear reactor design. We plan to develop research and testing programs in order to explore the application of our nuclear fuel technology, which is well suited for NuScales, natural circulation design in its small modular reactor. Our advanced fuel design is expected to increase core performance, extend core life, reduce the frequency of refueling outages and offer a reduced levelized cost of electricity."
    - "we also expect to start in the coming weeks some work on a consulting project with a nuclear regulatory authority overseas that will bring in some revenue."

The JV with Areva was terminated on November 18 by Lightbridge. The CEO highlighted an important meeting on November 14 in the last conference call. I believe this meeting was a good opportunity to evaluate options with US authorities. The stock will make run, the question is only when in my opinion. Based on the interview recent interview with the CEO I believe we will learn more in the coming weeks regarding the possible cooperation with US Government subsidiaries. The current market cap of $13 million is well below their cash.

"We have an important event coming up next week. On November 14, we will participate in the International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation conference at the White House. The topic of this event is bringing the world SMRs, small modular reactors and advanced nuclear. Event will be hosted by U.S. Secretary of Energy, Rick Perry and will include 22 energy ministers from around the world. The event will address the future of nuclear energy and will include the near-term adoption of small modular reactors. Their role in solving global problems, forward-thinking financing, revolutionizing the regulatory environment and innovative applications for clean energy systems."

The interview is from September but nevertheless quite interesting imo.

Titans of Nuclear: Seth Grae | Lightbridge Commercialization Process (Pt. 8)
    22 September 2019

Bret Kugelmass: What are the next steps toward final commercialization of Lightbridge’s product?

Seth Grae: In the coming months, Lightbridge is going to see how the government funding applications go and announce their first major contract with a major utility to put skin in the game. The fuel is going into the lead test rod assembly program in 2021 and is announcing, with the DOE and the National Labs, a research reactor test program that will start in 2020 that will feed samples going into the TREAT reactor. Lightbridge is going to make four meter-long rods that will be put together into one commercial-length rod that will have different zones up and down the rod. It will be put inside an actual commercial reactor in the U.S. to see how the four different areas do in parallel with the 2020 tests in the research reactors. This combination of data will give comfort to the utilities that it provides a benefit to the reactors and to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that they have the data they need to license it. The fuel will also go into the fuel pool, travel into the core, provide power, and be irradiated by the assemblies around it. The fuel will be taken back out to the spent fuel pool providing commercial experience and approvals. A whole assembly will go in 2023 or 2024 as part of the lead test assembly program, per a letter of intent from a major utility. In 2027 or 2028, Seth Grae anticipates full commercialization. Fossil fuels causes air pollution and climate change, but people give it a market because it is easy to extract. An independent study by Siemens showed that Lightbridge is going to destroy fossil fuels in the marketplace though base load power. The cheapest way to make massive base load power it to switch a reactor to Lightbridge fuel. It will be way cheaper than coal, natural gas, and renewables with the best non-proliferation on the planet. Nuclear at its worst is safer than coal at its worst. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be the next country to start up nuclear reactors in the world and is meeting and exceeding the highest standard in the world. Without growth in nuclear power, the world won’t meet climate, air pollution, or energy goals. Lightbridge can provide this growth without building the reactors, but instead getting more power out of the existing ones and justifying the case to build new reactors.

Lightbridge Awarded US Department of Energy GAIN Voucher to Support Irradiation Testing of Lightbridge Fuel™
    Dec 20, 2019
    http://ir.ltbridge.com/news-release...ded-us-department-energy-gain-voucher-support
Lightbridge Achieves First Direct DOE Award
RESTON, Va., Dec. 20, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lightbridge Corporation (NASDAQ: LTBR), a nuclear fuel developer, today announced that it was awarded a voucher from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear (GAIN) program to support development of Lightbridge Fuel in collaboration with Idaho National Laboratory (INL). The scope of the project includes experiment design for irradiation of Lightbridge metallic fuel material samples in the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) at INL. The project is anticipated to commence in the first half of 2020. The total project value is approximately $846,000, with three-quarters of this amount funded by DOE for the scope performed by INL.

Seth Grae, President & Chief Executive Officer of Lightbridge Corporation, commented, “This nuclear energy voucher from DOE GAIN is a key step in our pathway to perform critical material irradiation testing in a US test reactor. We look forward to working closely with INL, which brings unique capabilities and expertise to perform work essential to our fuel qualification. I’m also happy to highlight that this is the very first direct award to Lightbridge from the DOE, which demonstrates its commitment to funding nuclear energy innovation from American companies.”

    Nice - Back above $5 :)

LTBR is one of my top picks for the year 2020!

The current market cap of $16.5 million is still below their cash of $20.6 million at the end of 3Q.

These are very promising developments for Lightbridge. The mentioned characteristics of by the Office of Nuclear Energy concerning the "Accident Tolerant Fuels" match with Lightbridge's technology.

    Accident Tolerant Fuels
Accident Tolerant Fuels are new fuels that have enhanced accident tolerance.
Sarah Harman | U.S. Department of Energy

As we explore new fuels for advanced reactors, we also plan to dedicate more than $95 million to further develop accident tolerant fuels for our current fleet of reactors.

This industry-led program is on track to commercialize new cladding and fuel mixtures that could increase plant performance, allow for longer response times, and produce less waste.

These fuels are already being tested in commercial reactors and could gain widespread use by 2025.
