    Hello,
I’m new to this board but have been reading on and off the last month. I just started investing in March. My question is when is a good time to add stocks to my portfolio? I know timing the market is not a good idea. I’m reading the intelligent investor and it is helpful but I still feel the urge to wait for sold dips to buy. Since we are in a dip right now is the any way to judge the soundness of the bottom with indicators? I’m looking to add more index funds (total market), and Microsoft. I was looking back at the VIX index signs. As of this morning stocks are rebounding a little from last week’s dip. I guess I’d of hoped to notice some pattern yesterday to get me thinking. Although looking back there were some positive news pieces (Fed corporate bond news) and such I still felt uncertain. Today I wake up to checking the news and there are strong pre-market positives. I wasn’t shocked but surprised none the less.
